Least Crowded DVC Pools

In May we were at BC for the first time, main pool was still closed then, and we found the dvc pool in the evenings nice and quiet. Also have always found BLT pool nice and quiet in the evenings.

We enjoy relaxing at the pools more than the theme parks and have been to all DVC pools multiple times (except Fort Wilderness).

Based on our experience, it's easy to get chairs at all quiet pools in the morning or starting around dinner time, or if the weather is cooler. However, getting a chair at peak time (typically 11 AM to 5 PM) on a hot day is a different matter.

BLT and AKV don't have quiet pools. The one BLT pool is small for the size of the resort and can get very crowded. Sometimes, it's worth walking over to the larger Contemporary pool to look for a chair, but it's a bit of a walk.

AKV's two pools (one for Kidani, one for Jambo) both get crowded during peak. Still, even on crowded days, you usually can get a lounge chair at the Jambo House pool, but typically this is outside the fenced-in area, which is far from ideal. When you are outside the gate, it almost feels like you are not at the pool.

Both VGF pools get crowded at peak times, as do both RIV pools and all three PVB pools. We really like all of these pools, but they can be difficult to find seating during peak hours. If you want to get to the pool early, or show up later, the pools at VGF, RIV, and PVB are all excellent choices.

The BRV/CCV quiet pool is large, but seats are hard to come by during peak time-of-day. In many ways, this is the "best" quiet pool if you can get a lounge chair that you like. This quiet pool is large, has a convenient bathroom & changing area, includes a reasonably large hot tub, is a relatively short walk from most rooms, and also is close to Geyser Point, a nice place to pick up a bite to eat and take it back to the chair.

The BWV quiet pool typically does not get crowded but there is limited seating, sometimes making it difficult to find a lounge chair. The quiet pool on the Inn side usually has better seating availability, but it's a bit of a pain to get to from the DVC side. It's also a bit of walk to get food or drinks.

What we're left with are the quiet pools at SSR, OKW, and BCV. Generally, these have lounge chairs available throughout the day. Conversely, their feature pools get crowded. Stormalong Bay at BCV is in a league of its own - even first thing in the morning there typically is a mad rush to grab chairs on anything other than cool days.
