Can you take a boat from Poly to CR?

We have dinner AdR at the wave our arrival night. Thought that might be nice vs monorail.

No. The boat at the Poly goes to MK, GF and back to the Poly. I'm not even sure if there's a boat from MK to CR. I would just take the monorail from Poly to CR or you could take the boat from Poly, get off at MK and walk to the CR.

Here now, Tokelau room 2905. Room decor is nice, room is spacious, bathroom is not with the addition of two sinks. No privacy at all for the potty area, half wall does not even extend to cover the actual commode. No towel rack close to tub/shower either as Tikiman reported in Hawaii. Had some issues with non working power receptacles but they were handled by maintenance yesterday. Can see Wishes from balcony if you lean out. No bounceback brochure at check in and nothing in the room so far. No biggie for us as I believe that this may be our last WDW stay for a while. Crowd and CM issues are making US/IOA much more attractive to us at this stage in our family's life (Grown teens).

What are you seeing as far as construction is concerned? Walls around certain areas? Any pathways closed? Is the beach completely open all the way down to Tahiti?

Ok thank you. We may do that since we won't be in a rush and DD can see MK up close :) we will be headed there the following morning for RD!

I have a few more pictures of our GV CL room and of the lounge. Also I forgot to mention that we walked over to Aotearoa and Fiji and the construction from the room remodel is very minimal. We could see inside some of the rooms but other than that you would really not know construction was going on. The only thing blocked off were the two entrances to the building. I'm always OCD about my Disney trip being perfect but I seriously would not have minded being by a building that was being remodeled.

:rotfl: I'm with you on that!

Thank you for these :goodvibes

Thank you for that info :) I was hoping there wasn't anything too distracting and obstructive going on with the refurb. I would love to hear all about your CL stay! Do you have a report somewhere you can give me the link to? :goodvibes

I'm sorry if this has been asked, but are the theme park view rooms worth the extra money?

This will be our fist WDW trip in December. I have a TPV booked. I was considering downgrading to lagoon view to save a few bucks and asked this same question a few pages back. The responses were overwhelmingly the same. If you can afford it DO IT! We are keeping our same TPV reservations :)

If you change your mind about the BB and can't locate the brochure just call extension 8844 :thumbsup2

We have also rented a cabana in July but we did morning only as DD will probably take a nap and then we will head to the parks afterwards. I'm so excited to try it out! We did it for the same reasons - we figured the pool might be extra crowded due to the time of year and this will guarantee we get some space to ourselves!

We stayed at the Poly for 6 days at the end of May. I talked with a couple who rented a cabana for the day as they have an autistic child and they wanted a place for him to decompress while the family enjoyed the pool. They loved it and said they would do it again. So if you are worried about the crowds, I think you will really enjoy the ability to have your own "space" close to the pool. We had a fabulous time and will be returning with all 5 of our kids the week of Thanksgiving!

How much is a cabana? If we stay on first floor of Hawaii bldg would a cabana be worth the expense? Or would we be close to room? TIA

Has anyone heard an update as to when the new Vera Bradley will be there?

I do love the Poly tote. Makes a great teacher bag! :thumbsup2

Per Tikiman, "The Polynesian now has 3 cabanas near the Volcano Pool. Two of them are the standard cabanas and one is a premium cabana. The Standard Cabanas can be booked for 4 hours from 10am-2pm or 3pm-7pm for $117.15 or for 9 hours from 10am-7pm for $197.03. (Prices are as of 2011)"

We have stayed in the Hawaii bldg but have younger kids so I would not be comfortable sitting on our patio/balcony with our kids at the pool/beach unsupervised. We have always been able to find a place at the pool to watch/supervise the kids but we never travel from June-September to avoid the crowds. During those times, I woud definitely consider a cabana for a day for resort/pool activities if I had kids under the age of 12.

So sorry it hasn't been magical - hoping for some pixie dust to come your way and make it a happier stay!

Thank you for sharing!!!

Trying to figure out what time to make our ADRs and I'm wondering what time is the campfire on the beach each night? And what time do the movies start? I found conflicting information on Tikiman's site (he said 6pm and 7pm, but the picture posted of the actual sign at Polynesian said 7pm and 8pm.) Can someone who has been there verify for me? We will be there 2nd week of December if that makes a difference.

Also is there a campfire and a movie every night?

Thanks!
