I have been to busy with the holidays to follow tikiman on facebook. I have not seen anything though about it being soon. I'll be stopping for lunch there in 2 weeks so I'll check out the lobby and ask.

Just call the regular res phone number and ask to put a note on your res.

They all have daybeds. It's my son's favorite sleeping spot

What Trish said. Phone central reservations and ask them to note your requests. List thrm in order of importance.
You can't phone Poly directly. The number listed just sends you to an off site call centre. And I don't think Poly accepts faxed requests. ️POR is the only resort I know of that still looks at faxed requests.

Ground floor will have a patio, 3rd floor a full balcony, but 2nd floor just a Juliette balcony. The farther west you get in terms of longhouses, the farther you will be from the construction, but that will also get you farther from the GCH. Just depends on what's more important to you. The views are pretty amazing everywhere (when construction isn't going on) - enjoy your stay!!

There are elevators with the exception of possibly Nuie.

I know people always worry about what to request but honestly the resort is beautiful and I have always enjoyed whatever I have gotten.

On another note, I will hopefully be starting work on a new Poly thread soon. Guitarob, the previous Poly thread author passed the tiki torch to me a while ago for when it's time for a new thread. While we're not at the usual 250 page max yet, since it's almost 2015 and this thread is dated 2013 AND the Polynesian Resort is now the Polynesian Village Resort with so many changes I think it's probably time to get moving with a new Poly info thread. Once the Christmas chaos dies down I will get going and let everyone know when I've got things done.

I forgot to ask in my last post, anyone who has been to the Poly recently or who is currently there or will be in the next week or so for pictures that they wouldn't mind sharing for the new thread. With so any changes many of the Poly photos that we've been using in the first page information posts are outdated and I won't be there until mid-March. Specifically I need pictures of:
*the new lobby
*the new check-in area
*the new Polynesian Village Resort sign
*the Pineapple Lanai
*Club Disney
*any updates to the shops
*updated Captain Cooks
*the bungalows

I'll pretty much need pictures of everything, so any photos you can share would be much appreciated! Even if you have personally posted them in this thread already as you've visited I would like to have permission before using them in the new thread.

Bumping up my posts since there seems to be a lot more traffic in here now than there was over Christmas!

As I mentioned, when the time comes I'm supposed to be setting up the new Poly thread. Normally we wouldn't do that until this thread gets locked at 250 pages, but with the construction, activity in the Poly thread has really slowed down. As a result, we are now into 2015 with a thread dated 2013! The resort now has a new (old) name and lots of changes happening, so it makes more sense to start a new thread now rather than waiting for this one to max out.

I hope I can get some help with sharing of some pictures so I can update the photos on the info pages at the beginning of the new thread since I won't be at the Poly myself for another 9 weeks. TIA for anyone who can help out!

What is the latest on the construction and the pool? We are going to WDW in August 2015, and will most likely stay at GF because of Poly construction. We really need a pool every afternoon. Any chance it will be done by then?

What is the latest on the construction and the pool? We are going to WDW in August 2015, and will most likely stay at GF because of Poly construction. We really need a pool every afternoon. Any chance it will be done by then?

Disney has been telling people the completion date is Mar. 31. Even if they run over schedule (as people are speculating) I can't see them running 4 - 5 months over unless they run into some big problems. The quiet pool is also scheduled to have a refurb over the summer, so I don't think they'd have both pools closed at the same time, especially over the summer. A good educated guess is that the pool will be open again by August (although this is WDW, so there are never any guarantees!)
