We requested Fiji third floor.. Anyone have any reviews? I read the ones on page 1 looking for more!

This is our first 4th of July week at poly so I don't know if its normal but they've roped out an area on the beach with chairs for CL guests only. I'm pleased with this, I think, cause we couldn't see the water parade at all from our patio last night due to all the people, so we may go in the reserved area.

Also, there are signs in the lounge expressing it's for CL guests only, and a CM has been asking to see room keys. I talked to a CM about this and she said they have a huge problem with people sneaking in, especially at holidays.

I've also heard rumor they will deviate from the normal menu and have traditional 4th of July food. I'll know for sure soon enough!

good for you! We only stayed at poly once but had a garden view but I was convinced it was lagoon view! Lol. The view was awesome. I think we would only do garden view at poly!

On a side note...I wanted to know what you thought of cr after your trip! Lol.

I am busy planning for September 2014!

I have stayed CR BLV room back in 2011, we did love the location, the rooms are big & loved the contemporary furniture!

My DH just kept whining & whining about the Poly so.. Lol. I'm not gina lie & say I'm too disappointed tho.. I will be trying to squeeze the money from somewhere for CL tho.. Lol!

News from the pool area!

All guests are being carded and wristbanded and non Poly guests are being asked to leave

Does anyone have any pictures or info on the layout of the Tonga building? We're debating (for next summer) booking 2-3 CL rooms in Hawaii or a Princess or Ambassador Suite in Tonga. I've only been able to find a few pictures from MaryT of the Princess Suite which said it overlooks the lagoon, and I found one YouTube video that QUICKLY showed one of the Ambassador Suites, but it never mentioned where it was in the building or what the view was (although, I think he did say the monorail is out there when he pointed to the window?) Does anyone have any other pictures, videos, or a building layout for any of the suites? I really prefer the views and lounge associated with the Hawaii rooms, but if we'd need 2 or 3 rooms the suite would end up being less expensive and provide us with a living/dining/kitchen area.

Thanks!!

That's awesome. I hope it isn't limited to the 4th of July week.

So is this a permanent fire pit for the Poly?

I've been searching around and can't seem to find this, but I admit that I've been scanning all the pages of this and the prior thread, so I may have missed it. Is this what all the rooms are going to look like once the renovation is complete?

What is the expected time frame for it to all be completed?

Thanks so much! I know when you're on a thread for a while and someone pops on and asks a question that everyone already knows the answer to it can be annoying, but we are just in our beginning planning stages and haven't stayed at the Poly since 1997 :scared: so thanks for being patient ;)

Woo hoo! Glad to hear it...:cool1:

I was so happy to see that too!! But even so, this place is crazy.....line out the door at Capt Cook's! We are staying CL & the lounge is packed...people camped out all evening. First stay here, love it but it is crazy. Someone tell me it's just the holiday & not normal. CL ran out of hot dogs for my niece. Happy 4th!!

No that's not normal.. Well we always go in Sept and its not then..

Here now on the beach. Not too thrilled that I paid to be here today to see the fireworks and there are tons of people here who are obviously not staying at the poly and did not pay for the privilege of staying here using the amenities

I will be at the Poly in 3 weeks for the first time. I need an ECV to get around (can walk a few steps with cane) so I am going to ask for first floor stardard room in a longhouse that has automatic door entry so I can get around by myself. I know that only some of the longhouses have automatic entry though more may be coming with refurbs. And to further my wishlist would like a refurbished room - do not need handicap room. Has anyone that has recently been to Poly give me an idea of a longhouse with refurbished rooms and has automatic entry? Thank you so much

How do you know they aren't staying there?

They were checking keys earlier but I think they gave up because I haven't seen many purple wrist bands.
