Room is in ok condition. Fridge was a little warm, and the shower head has seen much better days. The cabinets at the front of the room are showing some wear and could be replaced but nothing that I would call bad.

We can see the castle down the side of the building (with the crane in place) but given we're paying GV prices can't really complain. Waiting for everyone to refresh from the trip down before we head out.

Oh...well at least it's not "bad" I guess...it's cool that you can see the castle though! Have fun!!!

To get your fridge to work.. Open the cabinet door that hold the fridge and leave it open..

Okay so here goes my crazy plan to save $100 on my family trip..
Originally I booked CL Poly, regular dining, 8 days park hopper for 5 people.
With the 30% spring rate.

Here's what I changed to.

With the advice of the super DisDads podcast host Ajritz
Bought annual passes.
Booked poly cl with the AP discount.
And changed to quick service dining.
Then we will get the Tables in Wonderland card which will save us 20% on table service.
After all that it comes to a little over $100 cheaper.

Now, I have a DisDads convention in January! .. Saving $500 in tickets for me and the wife. And we are going to go back with the family 9 days earlier than this year!! Saving over $1600 in tickets!!

That's a total savings of over $2100 in one year!:cool1:

They sometimes don't at all! :rotfl: I make my room requests though IPO. Aside from the Grand, I've never had a problem getting what I wanted. I should however note that my requests at the Poly are simply a third floor room. The CL staff assigns rooms for the CL guests so you should absolutely do it through them. I have them book my cabana for me. Last year I had them purchase my MNSSP tickets for me.

Are you excited for your first CL stay?!

Yes I'm excited! I thought there was a general Room Assigner at resorts, I didn't know IPO handled CL rooms. We have a Deluxe CL room at BC, and there are only 6 of those in the resort, so a room request is probably not an option. I'll get whichever one is open for our dates!

Can I renew my AP with them once I get there?

NICE! It's all about the LONG term savings!! I am getting an AP for the first time this year and am excited too!

Last August when I stayed in a Deluxe Club Level Room at the Boardwalk Inn I had already made a request for a room on the 4th floor through the Disney Reservation Center and the request was listed on the confirmation. Then later on after we started dealing with the BWI IPO I made that same request with them and they said it was noted one of their e-mails to us, however they also said since it's a request it could not be guaranteed.

Now we did end up with a room on the 4th floor, however I don't think the IPO Cast Members had a lot to do with it. All they can do is pass off whatever requests we have to the Club Level Cast Members working at the resort. So when they are doing room assignments it's out of the IPO hands as to weather or not you will be given your room request.

I think I read somewhere that it is about a 10 min walk from GF to the opposite end of the Poly...am I remembering this wrong? I only ask because I have only made a request for a balcony...I kind of would like to see where the "Disney magic" lands us vs. picking a specific building, but what is "worst case scenario" if we end up in a longhouse closer to the GF side...how far of a walk to the TTC?? I only ask b/c DH was annoyed by how spread out CBR was and I don't want him to get that feeling again...if its far (like 15 mins) ...I'll just request Tokelau, Rapa Nui or Tahiti..

Max will be 15 minutes to TTC.. You can always catch the monorail at the GCH to get to the TTC. Just takes a little longer.. The Poly is a much MUCH smaller resort than CBR and the walk is much MUCH more enjoyable at the Poly.. He will not be annoyed.. I promise.:thumbsup2

The only problem is the fact that I feel obligated to really "stick it to em" and go 10 or 15 times!! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

We are soooo sticking it to them by going more often :lmao:

It is not a huge walk but given what your DH has said, I would highly recommend Tokelau given the more 'central' location of this longhouse. Well, I'm biased too, Tokelau is my favorite longhouse!

I hear that they are taking away the newspaper delivery service for deluxe resort hotel guests, but I also read that you can still pick up a newspaper by the elevators? I wasn't sure if they meant the GCH elevators or each longhouses' elevators?
Perhaps if anyone is going soon they could update this? It would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you so so so much!

Good morning everyone!!

Nice pic :lovestruc

Thanks for the link - I joined in on the fun! I wish DH loved Disney as much as I do. He says he just wants a pool and beer - no problem! Of course, he's always asking why we can't go somewhere else. I've been almost everywhere (about 30 countries and hundreds of cities) and I like Disney best!!

I agree.

I just posted this on the pool refurb thread, but figured I would post it here too. We just got back last night from the week at the Poly.

They are tearing up the sidewalks and repaving. We learned this the hard way carrying the kids back to the room Thursday night after DTD. We left the bus stop and were walking back to Samoa and the walkway past the quiet pool was blocked and being torn up. When we left yesterday, they were walking on the walkway behind samoa near the quiet pool.

Yep!!:thumbsup2 my DW loves Disney but hasn't really been involved in the planning. I love getting on the disney site snd doing the "reservation shuffle"
I search for people going to Disney, so that I can plan their Disney trip as well.

I would rather spend a week in Disney sitting at the Poly, than a week in Italy eating bacon "smush sandwiches" I too have been everywhere except Hawaii, China, and Australia And really don't have the desire to fly for 12 hours to get there.. 2 hours and I am standing in orlando airport.. 30 minutes later I am walking the grounds of the greatest place on earth!!.. :yay: :cool1:
