Relaxing yes.. More like lounge music in 1970's Hawaii resort! I don't think it's bad! Not overly intrusive.

Rode TOT today you will not mistaken the difference for the nightastic add-ons
really cool! Got a real good laugh at the exit!

I won't be at Disney until September and I'm holding out hope they keep some of these new things. If not, you'll need to spill the beans to me!!

Last year I used my iphone 3G and I had great service. I even gave live updates on this thread when I was standing in line for ME, sitting in the Poly lobby, and in LINE at Soarin'. This past March, I even got service INSIDE SPACE MOUNTAIN as I waited in line!! That totally helped me out because I was by myself in a 90 minute wait line (I just HAD to check out the space mountain changes but should have gone on Carousel of Progress 3x instead ).

Another Philadelphia fan here ... though we live in northern Virginia now.

We'll be at the Polynesian 3 weeks from today ... can't wait.

We also had great 3g service last year at the Polynesian and throughout the parks. Was able to do online check-in for southwest airlines right at the 24 hour point while standing in line for Toy Story.

question for anyone there now or recently ... is hot oatmeal still available ... not the instant stuff ... the real thing ... it was there in December and we're hoping they still have it in the Club lounge.

See you all soon... it looks like a few of us will be there at the same time ... we arrive the 29th of June and are there through the 8th of July.

Wow, have an AWESOME trip!

As someone who had her iPhone and wireless broadband card at the Poly, the 3G reception is GREAT!!! I kept staring at the signal strength bars on my iPhone and tapping it like, "is this for real?!?!?!"

We live in Collingdale and work in King of Prussia (and my husband grew up down the street from Ambler...)

We're only going down for a *very* short trip to the Poly, leaving after work on July 2 and getting down at 10:00 at night, and flying home late in the day on Monday July 5...but I'm so excited, I've never stayed at one of the Magic Kingdom resorts before!

I didn't think I'd be able to slip another trip in this year, so this is fantastic =)

Us too! The only way I could convince my husband, who is not a fan of the heat or crowds, to go was by pointing out we didn't NEED to go to the parks, since we've already been there a bunch of times this year. So instead we are mostly planning on staying at the hotel...but then of course we HAD to upgrade to the Poly so we could see the fireworks and there would be things to do at the hotel

So we will be doing regular checkin on our vaycay, we will be getting there earlier than the regular check in time so...​

1. Our room is already assigned right? (just might not be ready)
2. Do the CM's know that we used a pin to get a discount?
3. If we don't put on our ressie that we want a floor or balcony do they automatically give that ressie a second floor if it's open?​

Although your room will be assigned, ask about the location and if you have a balcony if that is a preference (and be sure to add the request to your reservation). If you''d prefer a different room/location do ask nicely - they try to be very accommodating! Happy planning!

(We've paid rack rate and used a pin code over many years of Poly stays and have never been treated any differently. )

Possible pool refurb at Poly in August according to another post! Does anybody know anything about this? We are going in August/September and I would hate for one of the pools to be closed. I think I would even switch resorts if that is the case? TIA!

I would wait until it's listed on the rehabs/closing schedule because I haven't seen it listed there.

The pool being refurbed while we are there would be horrible!!! This is our dream stay at the POLY

Now how early do they announce pool refurbs? Would it not make sense to do this when it is cold? Tikiman, has a reference to a refurb at the volcano pool but no info...

If this is not a rumor how soon will Disney post this refurb? Is there anyone in the know, who can answer this rumor? I would assume someone would know the answer to this?????

Its our dream stay too, but Im not going to freak just yet..Although day of our anniversary is partly planned on lounging by the volcano pool with some pina colavas for the afternoon after renting water mice and lunch followed by dinner at Narcossee..

Please let us know if you do call! This could be a deal breaker for us as well, as my kids have to have a pool! I agree with a prior poster, though, why would you rehab a pool in August?? Seems like that could wait until the winter months....
