Has anyone else seen the alligators that reside in the Rivers of America in the MK? They are usually right near the bridge closest to Splash Mountain. Have any of you seen them in other spot in the World?
Cool picture Kathy! I had heard that CM's need to check Tom Sawyer Island every morning before opening just to make sure there aren't any gators sun bathing there. Being from up north the whole idea of gators fascinates me!
I have seen a couple of gators in WDW over the years. One of the operators on the shuttle boat that runs from POR to Downtown told DH and I that there are tons of them back where they take the boats to service. She said that they have to keep the boats at a snail's pace cause they are afraid they will hit the gators - lots of glowing eyes in the boats' headlights! Uggh!
We definately saw a lot of Gators around WDW, but luckily none within the resort. My kids probably would have ended trying to pat it on the head, never believing it was real!
I was telling my DH about the gators in WDW while walking from the pier to the BCV's. A couple of men butted in on the conversation saying that I was totally wrong and that the gator stories were a myth. I told them there was a cute "myth" by the bridge to the parking lot outside the Villa's.
Our neighbor had one show up in their garage a few weeks ago!
One of her kids left the garage door open, and he just waltzed on in there!
Animal Control came and it is amazing how fast they catch these!
The guy wrapped the alligators mouth with duct tape and let all the kids get their picture taken with it!
( He also lectured the kids on how imp[ortant it is to never feed the alligators nor get real close as they are quite fast and very dangerous) I was just happy to see 1 more gator gone.
