... what about Wishes Cruise??? We were unable this year to get an Illuminations Cruise (due to menu changes, and lack of day before preparation), but we were able to get a Wishes Cruise.
Why is little attention paid to this one? I assume it will be on par with Illuminations Cruise. We ordered wine and the strawberries ect...

Am I correct in assuming it will be just as grand???

Thanx in advance,
MG

Hi MG!

I have done both cruises and have to say they were worlds apart. (No pun intened).

It may have had something to do with a cloudy night above MK and it was before wishes. I came away very disappointed. The next night I was taking the boat from VWL to MK for enight and just happen to time it right. The view off the front of the boat was as good or better than my cruise.

I think Illuminations is just unique in opportunity.

I'm going to venture to guess, because I have never been on a Wishes cruise, but have done Illuminations cruise many times........

I suspect that the Wishes cruise is not as big just due to the fact that you cannot get as close to the "action" as you do with the Ill. cruise................for Illuminations you get an unobstructed, up close view of the show, while for Wishes you are outside the park, for one....And the Main Gate at MK is between you and the show, along with a couple thousand people inside the gate......

I've done both. For now, I prefer hte IllumiNations cruise, but not strongly.

IMHO, the view of Wishes from the lake is very good even though it is at a distance. The fireworks actually looked different to me than they did when I was standing on Main Street in front of the castle.

The only real drawback to a Wishes cruise (in my mind) is that you cannot hear the narration or any of the music from the boat - if they ever figure out how to "fix" that, I think the Wishes cruises will become every bit as popular as the IllumNations cruise.

Glad I did both, but no current desire to repeat either.

Best wishes -

They "fixed it" for the GG Wishes Cruise....guess it was worth the $$$$ for them there.

I did a Wishes Cruise on july 4th and our captain told us that they had so many complaints about not being able to hear the music that they are actively working on getting the music available on all boats and they hope to have it done by the fall. Right now they are equipping the boats but not using the system until all of the boats are finished.

I have done both cruises and definitely prefer Illuminations due to the fact that you are up close and personal. The cruise portion of the Wishes experience is better than Illuminations, but I was frustrated at not being able to hear the music.
