Hello everyone! We are going to Disney Oct 3-7 and we can't WAIT. This is only my 2nd trip as an adult...shameful I know...
Anyway last time we stayed off site, this time we're staying at the All Stars Movie Resort. I have surfed around a little on this site and I don't see anyone getting excited about staying there....how is this Resort? We ahve a 2 and 4 yr old and i picked this value resort b/c I figured my kids would get a kick out of the theme there......
We WERE going to stay in a Moderate resort, but after being offered the free dining plan w/ the value resort..FL resident thing, it was a no-brainer for us to stay in a Value.

I guess my whole question is, HOW is the ASMo to stay in? The pool area looks nice online.....is there anything I need to knwo about this resort, anything special to ask for??
Thanks for your help!

I love it. My kids loved it as well Some people don't like it but they also perfer Delux hotels. I was stuck in it all day last year during a hurricane and I was fine with the 4of us. It is small but thats fine with us. I would recommend a toy story room. They are close to everything. any question i think I am an expert on this hotel.

This is our favorite value resort. We prefer it over POP. The theming is fun, and we have never had a complaint about anything on a handful of visits. The only thing we miss at that pool is a slide, but none of the values have slides. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We have stayed here twice (me, DH, DS, DS). The kids were 6 and 3 the last time we went. They absolutely loved it. We have a DD now and with 5 the room will be too small for our upcoming trip.

Another ASmo lover here!

Stayed there last year. And it was great. The theming is very magical. You get a constant reminder that you actually are in WDW!

Although we have stayed in the preferred building (costs xtra) we would also choose the Toy story building at no extra cost.

The pool is wonderful. And the kiddie pool is very close by if you and DH want to split the kids up in each pool you will not be very far away from one another.

I am sure you made a good choice. Enjoy the free dining! Lucky you!

We stayed there for 10 days last fall with our two boys (3 and 15 months at the time) and we all liked it! It was really fun to see all the huge icons around, we were in the Toy Story section, and the boys loved that too. There is no slide at the pool, but we used the main pool three or four times and it was great for us. Some people say the rooms are too small, we thought it was fine for our family size; about the same as a regular hotel room (Holiday Inn, etc). We didn't have any problems with the busses, and the food court was great! We're staying at Pop Century this year, only for something a little bit different; we would not hesitate to stay at Movies again though!

Dh and I stayed there last June and we loved it! I liked it better than some of the moderate resorts personally. It isn't so spread out like some of the other resorts. We will be staying there next spring with our dd for her 1st b-day as well. I think your kids will like it and I hope you all have a great trip!!!

Wow, I just got suprised with an end of summer trip to Disney AllStars Movie resort. We have stayed at Port Orleans (both sides) and the Polynesian. We are trying to save money this time and although we are pretty adept at everything else, we know little about the value resorts. She decided to go with Movies because the theming would be better for our kids (which is good thinkin' in my book). Are there any other bonuses to the other values compared to Movies?

I was just wondering the same thing. How is the bus service? I think my kids would love to stay at this resort. We've only stayed at Deluxe's and one moderate, but I would like to try all resorts. It's my goal in life ;) .

We are an ASmo loving family and have stayed there since it was built :cheer2: :cheer2: The food court is wonderful--lots of choices for the little ones; and the food entrees are pictured on the video menus so the kids get to SEE what it looks like. We always go in the summer so I can only speak to the bus schedules during that time. Buses run regularly to/from all parks. We have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to board in the morning when we're ready to go. The 3 values resorts load ASsp 1st, ASmu 2nd, and ASmo last into the parks and the opposite unload after the parks close. So when you leave a park, you probably will be standing until folks exit into ASsp. We stay in the Mighty Ducks area and so exit via ASmu and then walk over.
There are laundry facilities by each pool for convenience. We may split some of our time at the Poly next trip, now that DS is 17 and DD is 15; but ASmo will always hold a special place for us. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Thank you all for your insight! This all helps me choose what we'll do...I have until October...but I feel the need to organize now! LOL..can't wait!

Re: Transportation When we stayed there, we had no problems with tranportation. the only comment I would make re: such is that unlike Pop, the lines are not queued, so you don't know exactly how many people are waiting for WHICH bus--until the bus actually pulls up
Re: Overall We really liked this hotel and stayed in Dalmations which is not a preferred location, but was very close to the food court and the buses. The resort is clean and very colorful. If you are at all concerned about noise, get a third floor room.
