Test Track presented by General Motors REOPENING JULY 22

Do you have to have a DVC reservation or just be a member to get the preview? We're now local but my next over-night vacay isn't until August, but I can certainly take a day (or 2) off work and ride TT!! :flower1:
For previous DVC preview dates, a deadline was given for Members to book a reservation but, yes, you did need one to qualify for the DVC preview. Of course, they could do it differently this time!

Since we're on our 1st year ever with an AP this is new to us - and of COURSE we depart on July 21st. Are AP preview days typically lasting right up to the main opening date or is there a window of time when no one can ride it? (or is it always a bit different)

So, we're missing the MK starlight parade and now this. Chose the wrong week to WDW. Checking out 20th.
Eh, I suspect there is hope for you crowd wise... It’s entirely possible people who can will shift their vacay dates in order to see the new MK night parade. Not so much TT, but a nighttime MK parade is gonna be a pretty big draw.

You'll get the preview. The AP preview is a range of days.

We already booked a trip starting on 07/24 just to see this beauty and the night parade. If the previews coincide with our free days, we would love to arrive sooner.

I was there Saturday (6/21) & you could hear cars whizzing by on the track
What is crazy is the cars were running at normal intervals during our week trip May 11th, again on our trip in early June and again last Friday when I was there. It is hard to believe that it won't officially open for another month. That is more than 2 months of them running the cars.

Not crazy at all given the history on this attraction. Remember when it first opened? reliability is a real concern. They have to run this thing a lot and burn it in to be sure it is not down more than up when it opens.

Test Track 3.0 Full Ride & Queue from Cast Member Previews, Build-Your-Own Car Removed Among Numerous Other Changes

As expected, the ride and queue experience feel completely new. The queue has been redesigned, completely removing the build-your-own car experience from Test Track 2.0. Instead, guests walk through showrooms of cars of the future before reaching the ride itself.

As for the ride, the vehicles will feel very similar, with a new coat of paint. The ride track appears to be unchanged, although many of the scenes feel fresh and new. There are a couple of scenes that have very little change to them.

Without actually riding ourselves, we can’t give a verdict on the ride.

Test Track 3.0 officially opens July 22nd at EPCOT. Walt Disney World has previously announced that they will have preview opportunities for Annual Passholders, DVC Members, and other affinity groups, but exact dates and details have not yet been shared.

Cast Member previews run through July 10th.

I’m sure it was mentioned before, but I didn’t know they were removing the design your car. I’m happy about that. I hate that Disney has so many lines that you are put into a room like that, then it becomes kind of a free for all, then joining another line. At least that room had somewhat lines still.

I don’t know why they don’t have the separators (can’t think of the actual word for the metal dividers in line) in place in those rooms just like the rest of the line. It just makes things a mess. People hurrying to get more towards the front. Then it’s really annoying if you are towards the front going into that holding area, then come out near the end.

Totally agree and am also glad it's gone.

Our older kids loved building their own cars and seeing whose model won. It used to never be crowded in the building room until they started putting one group where one individual used to build a car. With the old system each person scanned their band during building and once again while boarding. Having an entire family stand on one spot was ridiculous and more or less useless in building or racing, so glad that has been removed (if they couldn’t revert back to the old way).

Still glad it will be open when we go.
