Okay, first of all....for the countdown clock..go over to the Tech Board. They have what you need.
Now, AllStars.....we have stayed at POR, the Polynesian and are DVC owners at BWVs. When my dd and I made a last minute trip in Dec. we stayed at AllStarMusic. You know what?? WE loved it. She actually liked it better than the Polynesian. The rooms are basic, 2 double beds, small table with 2 chairs. A chest of drawers type thing with the TV on top and maybe 6 drawers total. Closet area is fine and the vanity has one sink but underneath it is great for luggage storage. THe comode area is a fine size. I still think it is bigger than the same one at the moderates. Our mousekeeping was excellent. Some of the best we've had on-site. The pools looked like fun...no slides. Food court had good offerings. I liked everything that I had there. Avoid it during the busier times..it does get crowded. Transportation was good. Again, some of the best bus service we've had.
All in all, we like it very much. It wasn't full of screaming out of control kids. At least not anymore than anyplace else we've stayed at. The rooms are the smallest on-site. If there are just two of you traveling, it will be more than big enough. WE are going back for two nights before our stay at BWV this summer and will have 2 adults and one 10 y/o and I'm not concerned about the size of the room at all. Have a great trip and have fun planning!!! Oh yeah....Welcome to the Dis boards.

My family and I stayed at the All Star Music in 1999 our fist experience staying on property and we loved these hotels. The only thing negative I would say is that the rooms are a bit small at 260sft but for just 2 people they are really great. My family and I really enjoyed the different themes that each hotel has to offer. I currently have a res this spring break also for the new Pop Century resort. I hope you enjoy your trip

We stayed at the All Star Sports during Spring Break in March, 2000. Our room was in building 10 on the second floor facing where the bus depot was.

We liked our room, there were four of us. It did seem a little small at times but we were never in it much. The food court and sitting area were good. So was the resort store. We avoided it during the peak hours.

I think that the weekend we arrived there was a cheerleading competition going on but it was only noisy one night. We were woke up about 2:00 am by some boys yelling cheers over in the football area but it didn't last long. It didn't bother us, just sort of added to the atmosphere since we were in the Sports resort.

I think that you would like any of the All Stars. I would suggest that you take the time to walk through them all. I believe there is a path of sorts that connects them.

The AllStars are great we felt! We really loved them and I really loved what they did for our wallet:Pinkbounc I mean I felt they had all the great things every resort has. bus transportation which is a must, a food court with good food, and a nice room to sleep in. We have stayed at deluxe and home away from home resorts and we liked the all stars just as much as any other one. I mean don't get me wrong are all time favorite is the AKL but that is do to the atmosphere. All the WDW resorts give off there own feeling. But my advice would be go for the Allstars. You'll have a great time!!:earsgirl:

Welcome !!

We've never stayed anywhere else while at WDW over the past 10 years. We've done all three and settled on the Movies as the "home base".
The rooms are standard hotel size with the sink outside of the tub/toilet room. The food court is amazing for us because we can all get what we want any meal we happen to be there.
You simply can't beat the price either and if you purchase AP (annual passes), you get discounts on rate, meals, and some purchases through out your stay.
We toy with going with one of the other resorts, but each year just can't get past all the $$ we save that we can spend elsewhere. Its wonderful not to have to count pennies for anything else.

Have a great time!

We've stayed at the FW cabins (really good deal!) and the BWVillas (gorgeous!) but am MUCH more excited about our upcoming trip to the ASMo because it is just soooo DISNEY. Disney movies are huge in my house (we have just about every single animated one there is) so I cant wait to see the look on my DD5 face when she sees the gigantic Mickey, Buzz, Woody and Dalmatians!! :earseek:
Accomodations are bare basics but what else do you really need?

I spotted Ben Vereen in MK the first week of December. He was at Disney for the Xmas Processional.

Also, several years ago, I was lucky to be at WDW for a TV convention and saw several celebs including hanging out in Pleasure Island with Sinbad.

You just never know who you'll see vacationing with yourself at WDW.
