Has anyone stayed at the All Star Music resort with a scooter? How easy was it to get around the resort? I looked at the layout of the individual rooms and it looks like there is plenty of room to park my scooter in front of the window. Hopefully there are plenty of plugs in the room so that I can plug in the charger for the scooter as well as the cell phones and what not that I'm sure my soon to be 15 yr old will be bring with her. MP3 player, camera, game system.

I have been to WDW before, always stayed off site and rented at the parks. I have rented them the past years at our state fair as well. The past 9 mos or so my back has been so bad that I'm using a scooter at the stores that I visit. I have degenerating discs in my lower back.

So, 6 months ago I bought myself a Zip'R4. Definately one of the cheaper scooters you can buy and suits my needs. Although I am going to see about getting a seat cushion that will give me more padding and less pressure on my tail bone. Has anyone used this model scooter at WDW?

I used my scooter at the state fair this past August and determined that this was the best investment I've made in a long time. No more paying $50 a day to rent a scooter. I have also found that my scooter is great to get around the casino as well :yay:

Thanks :flower3:

We stayed in the second floor of one of the Country Fair buildings several months back. We are a 2-scooter pair and were able to get both scooters in the room with a little manipulation so your single scooter should have little issue. :woohoo: Also had room for our various doodads like phone and laptops without issue.

I always bring a power strip and extension cord just to be sure that an outlet will work from various locations in the room. Glad you are finding life easier by using your scooter! I love All Star Music and you won't find a problem navigating no matter where your room is located.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually hoping that we can get into one of the Jazz or Rock buildings. My Daughter is a musician. She plays clarinet in the school band. She is also teaching herself guitar and piano.

If we end up in country or broadway just how far of a walk is it up to the main building? I certainly won't have a problem since I'll be on my scooter but I don't want her all tuckered out before we even get to the bus LOL

She is looking forward to enjoying the pools. I noticed that the larger pool has steps you can walk up and down to get into the water. Does the smaller piano pool also have steps like that? In addition to having a bad back I'm also quite over weight and there is no way I'm going to be able to climb up and down pool ladders and she really wants me to join her in the water.

Thanks :flower3:

One thing you might want to do is bring your charger with you to the parks. Looking at the ZipR4 it says it has a range of 10 miles and most people walk 6-10 miles a day at WDW so having a range of 10 miles seems like it's cutting a little close to me. Then if you go to a restaurant or something and park the scooter elsewhere, you can plug the scooter in to charge while you eat.

I would put in a request with reservations for those two buildings. Neither are "preferred" but Jazz is very close to the preferred section. I'm not sure about Rock as we have always ended up in Jazz. It's not that much further of a walk to the other buildings but Jazz will be your best option. They will tell you that requests are not guaranteed, but it doesn't hurt to let them know. Also have them note that it's for medical reasons as you are travelling with an ECV. As to the pool, I'm not sure about access as we've never used them. Perhaps someone else here will know more, or you can also call and see if you can get an answer.

WheeledTraveler - Yes, I do plan on bringing the charger with me whereever I go. When I used it at the state fair we had a heck of a time finding an outlet, but we did find one next to an entrance to one of the buildings and we plugged in and sat for an hour and just chilled. It was a good rest for everyone else to get off their feet and it was a good chance for me to be off that seat for awhile.
Have you ever been to Fantasmic with a scooter? I'm just wondering if it's easy in and out of the theatre and if there are seats close by for my daughter. I have never been to Fantasmic before and would really like to fit that in this trip.
Thanks :)

dclfun - Do I need to actually call reservations to book my trip or can I book it online and then call to discuss my needs? I'll be booking my flight as well as DME through them. The only other thing I need is a shower bench because I would prefer not to take a chance of falling in the tub.
Thanks :)
