This is not a replica. It was a gift from Emperor Hirohito, who was a huge Mickey Mouse fan. It spent 10 years at the Polynesian, but when WS opened it was moved to the Japan pavilion. There is no placard. People walk by it every day without knowing that it is “real.” In 2017 I was determined to get a picture after I learned of its history. Next trip, I will try to get it without backlight!
