Hey Guys, how is everyone? I personally think that Laura is milking it for ALL its worth to "hang On" to Leo! I have to admit, she was wearing toooo much makeup today! Did Erica ever find out what the "new" guy is up to? What is he, some kind of agent or something? WHY are Ditsie and Tad in a plane, having Sex? I am a little confused! Someone FILL me IN! I will be able to watch ALL of it tomorrow, I hope its good!

Good point, dizneenut! The younger they are, the easier they are to train. But, despite what they say, I believe an old dog can be taught new tricks. I still stand by my preference for experience over, um, stamina.

Did anyone catch Jack Scalia (Chris Stamp) on Regis & Kelly this morning? I didn't catch the whole thing. He's pretty hunky too in a rough, macho sort of way. He talked alot about his close friendship with Rock Hudson who was his mentor during the early days of his acting career. Hmmm...interesting.

I'm also totally disgusted with the Leo / Laura storyline - I cannot believe that she is considering not taking her meds in order to hold on to Leo. He is going to have a complete and total nervous breakdown if he is stuck in the house with her all day long! Like we were saying a few weeks ago - what ever happened to the Laura who stood up for what she believed in and was strong?! I hope that Leo leaves Laura and goes back with Greenlee....and that when Laura tries to turn to Bianca for support, Bianca tells her to get lost! I hope that Edmund talks some sense into Brooke, so that she will lay off trying to control them - or maybe even show Laura that she is driving Leo away with her smothering. When Gillian realized that her connection to Ryan was still her heart, and had Ryan go run to the hospital to see how Laura is, I was so afraid that they were hinting at starting a storyline where Ryan feels responsible for Gillian's heart and, in turn, for Laura! If they put Ryan and Laura together, I will be forced to temporarily stop watching!

Ditsie made me sick, yesterday, too - YUCK! And I thought the exact same thing, when she pulled down the window shade - LOL! What makes it even MORE ridiculous is the fact that Sweeney's father just "happens" to be on the plane! I'm even more interested in Rosa and Gabriel than I am with Tad and Ditsie at this point! I was watching some old tapes again, a few nights ago - remember how good Gloria and Tad were together, in the beginning?

Since we are on the subject of old tapes...these are some of my personal favorite couples of the past...

<b>Adam and Gloria</b>....I thought they were great together...I really liked them paired together

<b>Adam and Erica</b>....Hey, if anyone knew how to fight, it was these two!! They had such comedy together!! LOL

<b>Trevor and Natalie</b>...The first Natalie when Trevor snuck on board Natalie's boat and they got stranded on the island together...that was so awesome when they both declared their love!!

<b>Edmund and Brooke</b>...Sorry guys, but I just love these two together and wish they would find love again!!



I think I was just about ready to puke when Tad came dancing out today with coconut shells on him...BARF!!!!! And Ditsie saying, "Your coconuts just poked my coconuts"...or something like that...GAG!! Too bad Ditsie was still standing after the gunshot...(darn, huh Aprille!! LOL)


I think I might watch Natalie and Trevor's wedding now that IASW has brought up the "old tapes" thing...LOL...I love watching that!!

O.K. Hailey is getting On my nerves with "there's something wrong with the baby" thing. When is Arlene going to show up? Jack Scailia was asked by Joan Rivers "Did you know Rock was Gay?" He said he did, but I am wondering if Rock had a "thing" for him??! I felt a little sad when Jack was talking about how he found out about Rock's illness! He called him personally from Paris to tell him.

The most interesting part of the interview with Jack Scalia was how hesitant he was to answer Joan's question about whether he knew that Rock Hudson was gay. I found that rather odd. I mean, c'mon, what's the big deal?! If they were so close I don't know how he couldn't have known. He never did really answer the question. He only said he knew that Rock was ill even before Rock told him. I just thought it was kind of weird.

I use to enjoy Tad's antics before Ditsie became such a shrew in the months before her departure several years back which is when I started hating her. Now they're just stupid. This current storyline gets dumber by the day. Remember when Tad was wearing the speedo?! That was the last antic I enjoyed and that was during the Shrew Ditsie days. I really hate that Ditsie has turned me away from Tad who use to be my favorite character. Lately I cringe when he comes on screen, especially when he's with her.

I'm with Poohbear123 about Haley getting on my last nerve today. But I guess it wouldn't be a soap opera without the added drama. LOL! Hasn't Mateo been cute during all this?! I use to think he was just a meathead but he's been growing on me lately. I feel a little like a voyeur when watching them together though since they've been through all this in real life. It's a little creepy.

Since Beanie has brought up favorite old couples let me add Jack and Erica to the list. Although I'm not sure I want to see them together again any time soon. I want to see the Chris/Erica relationship explored a little deeper. Erica needs new blood.

I also enjoyed the Brooke/Edmund pairing although I hated Brooke when she broke his heart by choosing Tad over him. I wouldn't mind seeing them back together. Edmund definitely needs a woman and I don't want it to be Anna. I didn't care for him with Alex either. I wish Anna would just go away. I hope she goes to Port Charles and never comes back! She was so rude to Edmund today. I just wanted to slap her!

Someone said they thought Haley was behaving in a paranoid way over the health of her baby. This storyline brings back a lot of old memories for me. When my first DD was born, I was going to the hospital nursery to see her. There was an X-ray machine positioned over her bed (in the neonatal unit) but no one would tell me what was going on. I was very scared! Granted, this was 21 years ago, and I'm sure things have changed, and thankfully she is a healthy young woman today in spite of being born with a slight heart defect. But I can understand Haley's fears better than most.

Thanks so much, Aprille58! I always love your posts, as well! I completely agree with you about the period of time before Ditsie left, when she became a self-riteous, holier-than-thou, you-know-what. She used to make me sick, judging Tad, Liza, and everyone else around her, as if SHE was the only one who knew what was "right" and how to live one's life. UGH! I liked her when she first came back on the show - if you remember, she was a lot stronger and more independent than she is, now. I thought that it was a nice change from the way that she was when she left. But now, they've made her into a total simpering idiot! One line that she said last year that I will never forget because it made me so sick - she was giving David advice about women and she was saying something about how women like to be mysterious and like to be pursued, and then she told David that when one really gets to know a woman, she turns into a "lovely little cream puff"......GAG ME!!!!!!!!!!! They really need to have some consistency with these characters - when Ditsie left the show, she was trying to be a big career woman (teaching). Then she came back and she was all independent, but almost immediately went into her "nothing is more important than my family" mode, closely followed by "my family doesn't appreciate me or make me feel special - I need a new career and an affair to make me feel better" mode, and now she's all but forgotten about her "new new" teaching career and is back to "nothing is more important than my husband and children" - UGH UGH UGH. In addition, think about how much wimpier the following characters are / were from the way that they were when they first appeared on the show: Gillian, Kelsey, Ditsie, Julia, Liza, Marian, Ryan........the list goes on and on. They "water down" the characters after awhile. At least Hayley still has personality! And I would be very upset if they ever tried to "tone down" Greenlee or Leo!

I definitely remember Tad in the speedo! The reason I liked him with Gloria is because even though they weren't together for very long, it seemed like a more realistic relationship than his with Ditsie (ie: Gloria wanted to be fair to the kids, she felt uncomfortable about sleeping in "Ditsie's bed", she didn't want either of them to feel smothered by the other in the beginning, etc.). I also liked Tad with Liza (although I think that she is much more suited to David, actually!). I liked Erica with Dimitri and Brooke with both Edmund and Adam - but I also liked Edmund with Maria! I liked Arlene with Alec (if you can call them a "couple"!) and I liked Belinda and Adrian. I also liked Ally with Jake.....until she became psycho (I see Laura going down that "path", now!)! And I liked the friendships between Kelsey and Kevin and Bianca and Leo. And I liked Opal with Palmer, too!

IASW Rider - Amen, sister! I use to like Ditsie too but her shrew period (as I refer to it) did it for me. She can never EVER be redeemed in my eyes. The affair with David just put one more nail in the coffin. I remember the scene you refer to with David very well though I wish I could erase it from memory.

Notice that it's usually the female characters who get dumbed-down. And why oh why do pregnant women always faint on the show?! Have you ever known a pregnant woman in real life to faint? LOL! I'm sure it happens but not with the regularity that it does on soaps.

IASW...I forgot about Opal and Palmer...they are so good together...they are another favorite couple for me!!

Aprille...I couldn't agree more about the fainting/pregnancy on soaps...what is so funny is that every character who has been pregnant on a soap has some dramatic labor/delivery!! I mean, seriously, has anyone soap woman had a "normal" delivery without drama surrounding it?? ROTF...I know that is why they call it a drama, but come on...someone should be able to get through it like millions of other women everyday...


By the way, you better get a good look at Hayley and Mateo's kid today, because next week, he will be 2!! LMBO!!

The only child who hasn't miraculously aged (thus far, anyway!) is Colby, Beanie! But I'm sure that she will be ready for kindergarten the next time we see her!

Hmmm.......I'm trying to think of a pregnant woman on AMC who didn't faint or have a big, dramatic delivery.......hmm......well, Maria is out, Erica is out, Kelsey is out, Liza is out, Brooke is out......I can't remember when JR was born very clearly, but I'm sure that Ditsie played it to the hilt!

I hadn't watched yet when you made that last post, Beanie, but I also had to look away in embarrassment when Tad was dancing around with the coconuts! I almost thought that he left them on, on purpose - to protect against potential gunshot wounds, you know!

Glad that you liked my little tirade about Ditsie, Aprille58! It's sad - I really did like her a lot, in the past - but she's just so cutesy and wishy washy, now - I couldn't stand the way that she was treating Tad through the entire David affair. Frankly, I couldn't stand the way that she was treating DAVID at that time, either - it's a wonder that either one of them continued to love her! And you're right - it's almost always the women whom they dumb down - with the exception of Ryan! Sorry ladies - I still love him, too - but he just seemed to have so much more personality when he first came on the show! Mateo has sort of "lost his edge" since he first appeared on the show, too - but I still love him, as well - particularly yesterday, when he was showing his son to everyone. I wonder if he still remembers that he has another son??? I wonder if Max will be invited to visit his new little brother?!

I could go on and on.....but time for work! Have a wonderful weekend, Everyone!
