All My Children fans

My goodness, an hour from the closest Wal-Mart?!?! You poor dear! How do you survive? LOL! It's my home-away-from-home! Now that's pathetic! LOL!

Yeah, Jackson would work too... ;) :D

Aprille58 - Are you "going soft" on me??!! I thought that Mia and Ryan were pretty annoying, yesterday, especially when she whines at the end "I've already been hurt more than you know!"......and that's what makes him ask her to stay. Isn't this the same Ryan, who a few days ago promised to stay in PV "for Liza", in their last impassioned moment??? Where is his loyalty? One minute, he's talking about how he allowed himself to care too much about Liza.....and the next minute, he's comforting Mia, who's obviously implying that she was "so hurt" in the past because her father loved Liza more than her, and presently because Liza has money and success and she doesn't. UGH! Too many inconsistencies on yesterday's show: Mia tells Ryan that she is going to "find my sister and her wallet". Then Ryan tells her that it's no use because Liza is "having it out with her husband". And Mia says "I thought that she went away somewhere....is she back?" If she didn't know whether or not Liza was back, where was she planning to try to find "my sister and her wallet"??!! As much as I loved those scenes between Jake and Greenlee (and I definitely like the new and improved "bad man" Jake!), I think that his new personality is totally inconsistent with the way that the character was written in the past. Am I missing something? Greenlee asks him where his pride is, if he can be with her even though he knows she still wants Leo. And his response (albeit a nice one) basically implies that HE HAS NO PRIDE! Is this the same guy who blew off Gillian, after pining away for her (supposedly) for months in Chechnia (sp?) because he had to get his head together and know that she was not in love with Ryan? Is this the same guy who ultimately chivalrously stepped back so that Gillian and Ryan could be together, then was pained and humiliated afterwards?! The "old Jake" would never do this - it would be like "out of the frying pan, into the fire!" The "old Jake" was all about pride and family values and "doing the right thing"........so why is he now basically telling Greenlee that she could walk all over him and he wouldn't care? It SOUNDS good, but what would Jake do if Leo finally left Laura and Greenlee ran off with him? I don't think that he would be sounding so "cool", then! Mind you - I love seeing Jake this way, but it just doesn't seem very "realistic", after the way that he was, before. And.....um.....they never explained how his "physical situation" fixed itself......maybe he should have been THANKING David Hayward for the GREAT LIBIDOZONE CRUISE instead of shaking his crutches at him in court! Finally, yes, Laura was starting to act like the "old" Laura again, yesterday, which was nice to see. But truth be told, wouldn't she have been crushed (and immediately plotting and planning and scheming) if Leo had said "YES! I DO love Greenlee! What do you want to make of it?!" If she really meant what she was saying, I hope that we see a change in her character - maybe she will start being more independent again and reminding Leo of the person whom he started getting closer to, months ago. OK - enough ranting for one morning! Have a nice day, Everyone! :)

LOL, IASW Rider! Okay, so I had a weak moment yesterday with Mia. I did say I reserve the right to change my mind! :D

Character inconsistencies are the mainstay at AMC. I didn't like the old Jake. I'm loving the new one so I'll forgive them this time. ;)

Hey, what can I say - the sun was out all day yesterday for the first time in over a week - birds were chirping - I guess I wasn't in my usual cynical mood for the show. I'm sure I'll revert back to my true form soon. Probably as soon as I see Ditsie today. :p

Hee hee! You know that I am only kidding, Aprille58! :)

Looking forward to some Ditsie-bashing, later, though! :)

Have a nice day! :)

when David was talking to Joe about the impending board meeting to exile him from the hospital. He said something like, "Joe, we all know this is a lynch mob headed up by you and your son. This has nothing to do with my skills in the operating room and everything to do with my skills in the bedroom." bahahahahahahaha!

How sweet were the scenes with Stewart and the Santos baby? Ahhhh.

Loved the scenes with Opal and Palmer today. Did Palmer say that David was his son-in-law?!?!? Uh, I think that's step-son, PC.

How about the look on David's face when his mother jumped to his defense during the board meeting. He was like, where the heck is this coming from. LOL! It was priceless.

Arlene's back - WOO HOO! It should be good the next few days.

I was sooo happy to see David wipe that self-righteous, smug look off Ditsie's face at the end of today's show. :p I'm sure it will return shortly. She's never without it for long.

How's that, IASW Rider? Snarky enough? :smooth: I may not quite be back in full swing yet but I'm getting there. :p We got another quarter inch of rain during the soap so that contributed! LOL!

Hey, where is everyone? Doesn't anyone want to come out and play? :)

My favorite quote of the day:
Vanessa: "I worked on Palmer all last night just for you."
David: "YUCK! Thanks for that image. Now you've spoiled my appetite."

Here's one from yesterday I forgot to mention:
Palmer to Opal after one of her trademark homespun phrases: "Translation please. I don't speak cowpoke."

How about one from the previews for tomorrow:
Laura: "You just can't stand that I have Leo and you don't."
Greenlee: "You have him, do you? Is that what you think?"
She's good, very good! LOL! Poor, pathetic Laura doesn't stand a chance. She'll probably fake another "episode" to squirm out of this one.

Can't wait to pick up where we left off today with Mateo walking into Haley's hospital room and seeing Arlene. hehe! The previews showed Adam walking into the room too. Should be good tomorrow! :D

I haven't seen the show yet, but I have a question...Is it the original Arlene?

Well, it's not the original Arlene, it's the most recent - Olivia Birkelund. I thought I remembered someone else playing the role so I did a little research. Phyllis Lyons originated the role of Arlene in 1990. Olivia took over in 1995. And am I glad she did! She's fantastic!

LOL Aprille...that is what I was wondering...I liked the Original Arlene, but I like the new one better...:)

Aprille58: I Laughed SOO hard at that quote by David! Too funny! And Arlene being back, I can see BIG trouble coming up for Haley! Boy, she doesn't even call her "Mom", just Arlene! I do like this Arlene, I don't think I remember the "old" one.

Boy that Arlene is one scarey Mom! I can't believe what is happening now. Poor Haley:( What a tough situation to be in. I don't want to say too much right now because I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it.

I missed it at 1, so now I am definitely going to watch at 3!! :) Can't wait to see it!!

I was just reading in SOW that Esta Terblanche's (Gillian) last air date is September 26th! She won't be on anymore after that, but Jesse will still be around...hmmmm....

I felt sorry for Haley for about half a second today and then I just wanted to slap her! What is wrong with her?! I mean, c'mon, I know she just had a baby and her hormones are all over the place but her mother is a psychopath. What's with all this "boo hoo I want my mommy" crap?! I suppose they have to keep the conflict going to enable the storyline development. Adam was really sweet with Haley today though and I loved the Mateo/Arlene scenes. Mark Consuelos has developed into a pretty good actor. I didn't hold out much hope for him in the beginning. LOL!

Also loved the Greenlee/Laura scenes. Laura stepped in way over her head on that one. LOL!

I didn't like those moon eyes Anna was giving David today. I'm hoping that when she goes to New York that she doesn't come back!

It's now official. I don't care for Tad at all anymore and he use to be my favorite character. Thanks alot, Ditsie! :p If she had never bedded David, Tad wouldn't be on this witch hunt. It's very unattractive. Especially with Ditsie batting her eyes at him and trying to talk him down all the time. UGH! I HATE it! But y'all already knew that, didn't you? ;)

Thanks for the Gillian update, Beanie. I love Jesse so I guess I'm glad he's sticking around. I'm just not sure how they're going to pull this off.

I loved Adam and his "famous" qoute: Arlene makes Joan Crawford look like June Cleaver! Boy is he great or what?! And what is it with Arlene and cutting the babies hair? how WEIRD is that! I hope for Haley the plane crashes!

Okay, finally got a chance to reply to this...LOL...I loved the Greenlee and Laura scenes today and can't wait until tomorrow when Leo walks in the room!!! Whoo hoo...:)

I absolutely hate Ditsie/Tad, but hey, there is no real surprise there!:p 'Nuff said...

As for Hayley, I agree with Aprille...I didn't feel the least bit sorry for her today...I mean, especially after all her Mother has done...but I love the person who plays Arlene...she is so good in the role!! :) OMG...on the brighter side, isn't Hayley and Mateo's baby so darn cute!!! I wonder if that is their real baby?? Anyone know??

Okay, that is it from today...NOW:
I felt very nostalgic today and decided to go looking around in my Hope Chest...LOL..I found so many AMC things in there from high school, that I thought I would share a couple of them...Now remember, this is from 1990...so, remember these things?

<img width=450 src=http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/beaniejumper/P0002241.jpg>

Who Killed Will? What a storyline that was...as you can see, I brought this particular copy to NYC with me and a lot of the cast signed it...also on the cover is the original Arlene sitting next to Trevor...I thought that was pretty cool! Especially now..LOL

Okay, the next thing is a poem I wrote in High School for Poetry 101 class...LOL..this is a riot...see if you can remember these particular stories...

ALL MY CHILDREN

Things in Pine Valley are running on par,
Let me catch you up on what's happenin' so far,
Maria and Erica are fighting, you see,
Over who gets the red room, office or nursery?
There were fighting quite vaguely about nothing at all,
It was very anemic--c'mon, where's the brawl?
Then they seemed to resolve things for no better cause,
Then the threat that they might lose their men, so they pause.

Kendall and Del are in Florida today,
As poor Mr. Hart has now passed away.
Alice Hart's looking awful, no kidding, no lies!
She's got these enormous bags under her eyes.
Doesn't need too much makeup, I guess this is luck,
But what she could use is a good nip and tuck!

Through a true little accident, Opal's aware,
That Palmer did the nasty in a one night affair,
With no other woman than Janet, I fear,
So she's thrown the Lothario out on his ear!
Seabone's making his move, while Opal's under stress,
Can Monique help Palmer to salvage this mess?

And all of us breathed a huge sigh of relief,
When Julia told Noah, "I love you , you big hunka beef!"
But alas, there are problems still holding them back,
Noah thinks it's because she is white and he's black.
Julia's very unsure of herself, what to do,
May I please conk together the heads of these two???

P.S. Bianca's a pain where a pill just won't reach,
All I can say (in Corvina-speak) is, "Gosh, what a beeetch!"

Okay, so it isn't the best poem in the world, but I was only 17! LOL Do you remember when Janet and Palmer slept together?? I forgot about that one until I read this!!! And Julia and Noah finally declaring their love!!! :)

Anyway, that is the end of my nostalgia...Hope you liked it!!!

I think that's a great poem, Beanie! And I remember all those storylines! What a wonderful souvenir you have with that autographed magazine! I forgot what the original Arlene looked like until I saw it. Thanks for posting this! :)

Re: Haley's baby on the soap - I don't think it's Lola. I saw the baby on Regis and Kelly a few weeks back (in a tutu and "I love Regis" t-shirt) and I don't think this is her. The baby on the show is adorable, isn't he/she? :)

Glad you liked it, Aprille...I have another poem as well...I shall post it too, since hey, what the heck, we are all AMC fans here and well, it belongs in this thread!! LOL

This poem I wrote to the producer of AMC when I was 17! My favorite couple back then was Natalie and Trevor and I was so mad because they kept giving them all kinds of obstacles to go through instead of just marrying them off...LOL...

ODE TO NATALIE AND TREVOR

I have to admit, I am very sad
All My Children is making me mad!
It is really hard to believe,
That the writers of this show could be so naive!
Don't they realize what they are doing
To all the fans who are faithfully viewing
Only this couple has been through it all
A shipwreck, a kidnapping and a major arrival
Of course Janet caused a lot of alarm
But who knew she belonged on a Funny Farm?
Then along came Dimitri, a prisoner's dream
And on him, Natalie leaned
She fell for him hard, until she learned his past
With Angelique still alive, their love could not last
Now Janet and her baby, what a drag!
The fans want it to be Natalie's with Trevor as the dad!
But still the writers do not care,
If the fans are watching--fair is fair
We only ask one tiny little thing,
In the future, to hear wedding bells ring
Please reunite Natalie and Trevor
This is one love that should never be severed!

LOL...you guys must think I am crazy...can't help it...I absolutely love Natalie and Trevor...I wish they were still on the show!! :(

Thanks for the blasts from the past. Angelique - the ol' demented wife in the attic plot. LOL! Now that was a hoot! :D

Thanks for sharing! :)

Okay, I'm assuming from the end of today's show that Tad thinks David is choking Joe and not even considering the possibility that he himself badgered his father into having a heart attack. What a jerk Tad was today! I see some major crow-eating in his future when David saves his father's life.

Ditsie also got on my last nerve today. (You're not surprised, are you?!) I found it painful to watch her butting into her brother-in-law's business. Turning down a job offer for him. Where the heck does she get off?! "I have done the dirty with David (time and time again) and therefore know him for the despicable, evil person that he is and I must save the world from him!" UGH! UGH! UGH!

How about when she told Tad about Jake's job offer from David and Tad went tearing out of the room. Ditsie said, "Did I do that?" DUH! "I'm just a ignorant country girl who has no idea what effect the words that come out of my mouth have on my whipped husband."

What is wrong with these two?! Heaven forbid they just be happy to have found their way back to each other again! :GAG: Oh, no - that's not good enough for them. They must destroy the evil David even if it means alienating themselves from the rest of their family, possibly even killing the patriarch.

Okay, I think I feel better now. I just had to get that off my chest. I will try to comment on other aspects of today's show later after I've had a chance to calm down. LOL!
