Are you sure you aren't thinking of Ruth Warrick who played Phoebe since day one? I hadn't heard that either the character of Ruth Martin or the woman who played her died. Usually they say she's working or off on some medical charity trip like Doctors Without Borders.

Oh..now Ruth Warrick...Aunt Phobe..I knew about her dying. I was refering to Ruth..Tads mom..and Joe's wife. I didn't hear about her dying either. I know they used to say she was always off somewhere. Had me wondering when I saw the Tad/Dixie flashbacks....and original Ruth was in the background..wearing a nurses hat...now when was the last time you saw that!

According to IMDB Mary Fickett, who originally played Ruth Martin is still alive but is not listed as being a part of the cast anymore. Ruth was last played by Lee Merriwether who is also still alive. I think Goofy's Friends might have Ruth Martin and Ruth Warrick (Phoebe) confused. Or I could not know what the heck I'm talking about. It's happened before

Yes, Kate...she was who Dixie's baby was named after also. I miss the old Martin home...the way the show centered around it years ago. Anyone here old enough to remember the blue and while checked curtains..they had in the Martin house. I used to love them. It was so "homey" looking. Back then Tad was a teenager..! Jeeze dating myself here...Hey then again..so was I! My best friend and I started watching from the very first day it was on the air..we couldn't been more than 12..maybe jr. high school..as it was called back then. Kate Martin welcoming her son home from Viet Nam.

Count me in among the AMC old-timers - I remember it well. I always felt at home in the Martin house myself.

What I miss most is tyrant Phoebe taking shots at "that Donna Beck!"

And of course, Billy Clyde. That's one I wish they'd resurrect from the dead - hey, it's a soap, it COULD happen.

Donna Beck...ahhaa! Billy Clyde..that's so funny, I remember those days. Oh boy that takes me back. Yes..Phoebe's mansion...those were the days. Phil and Tara???...Oh well..now we have the walking talking "Fetus Martin" to add to the Martin clan..who would have thunk it back then?...Jeeze...I think I'm glad Kate isn't around to see that!...Let's set another plate at the Thanskgiving table for the science experiment gone bad...because we thought that Erica should have a son now. I'm sick. Hope they end this stupid story line and ditch the son..maybe he could go FAR away...where ever it is that Ruth is maybe?

They need to tone down the Babe/JR cheese-factor. I know soaps are supposed to be all romantic and crap, but c'mon. How many of y'all have looked at your DH and said, "There's still so much I don't know about you..." and had it be a GOOD thing?!?

I supposed after he finishes his next piece of artork, JR is going to compose a symphony and call it Babe. Then, he'll play it on the piano...because I'm sure he's a concert pianist, too.

As for the scenes in Erica/Jackson's house....did anyone else notice the strange door blocked by the table? What's with that?!?

I've sorta gotten away from watching AMC. It is on at 11am here and we are a day behind (since the current show doesn't feed until noon central) but I was reading my HS news letter and I went to HS with Colin Egglesfield who is the new Josh Madden.

How weird is that?

I hadn't really relized that they recasted Josh. He was 2 classes ahead of me. I was involved in drama but he never did any theatre. I remember him being a football player and involved in student council and I'd be super suprised if he knew who I was. His HS girlfriend was in choir and colorguard with me and I dated a football player on and off so I knew his name but I doubt we ever spoke to eachother.

If I can dig out my yearbook I'll post a pic.

I am so bored with AMC. One Life to Live is more interesting. I'm so sick of Greg Madden story. I can't stand Di Henry and they way they are bringing Dixie back sucks. Poor Tad can't find true love. Where's Brooke & Danielle? I'm also sick of Zack. The show stinks. Sorry, just had to vent!

I guess I’m watching a different show than some of you. I found this past week to be incredibly entertaining with all the Ditsie-bashing going on. hehe. Finally the sweet payoff this Ditsie-loather has been waiting for!

My personal favorite Tad to Ditsie zinger: “You can go back to dinner with David. He can have you. I’m done!” Yeah, baby!!!

Another favorite line from the week - Krystal to Adam: "I see dead people."

Does anyone else find it telling that after 4 long, agonizing months Cady’s photo still has not been added to the opening photo montage? This is keeping my hope alive that she will soon be gone FOR GOOD!! I’m sure Ditsie is not dead as we were left to believe on Friday (that would be too good to be true!) but maybe the family she deserted for 4 years will run her out of town on a rail.

There is absolutely NO story that will EVER make this fly. Not even in AMC soapland. I will take the walking, talking, fetus doctor over any plausible explanation for Ditsie deserting her family for 4 years.

They are leading us to believe that Dr Madden stole her baby and she has spent the last 4 years trying to track him down in order to find Kate. WTH?! Uh, Ditsie, honey, your husband (and father of the child in question) is a private detective. He just might have been able to help in the search. Ya think?!

I say find Kate, give her to Tad (the poor man deserves some happiness in his life!) and bring out the tar and feathers for the Worst Mother of the Century.

I agree with the Babe/JR cheese factor. The drawing was the last straw. And the whole changing into the dress and giving him the jacket on the plane - I thought I might hurl.

Now, I LIKE that they're all together and happy, but this Dixie looming in the shadows thing is getting old - let's show her to JR asap and get things moving again.

I think most of the storylines are pretty good right now. Hell, I'm still watching, they can't be that bad.

But Greg Madden - Pleasssseeeee someone kill this freak! Or at the very least, recast him - I can't stand to look at him or hear his voice - he's totally other-planet material. And they say Janet's from another planet - I think she must be some long lost fetus of the Madden stock.

Do you ever get tired of AMC stringing us all along....day after day, after day, after...(you get the idea) day?

Honestly! I had the whole week off for spring break and thought they couldn't possibly drag this out for another week. WRONG!
