All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Yesterday was much better in the weather department. :thumbsup2 We had a lot of pool time with Anita, Marc, and Baylor, and the girls enjoyed some popsicle treats afterward. We were going to Via Napoli, but by the time we got back to Pop, it was really too late to get ready, so we cancelled it and ate in the room instead. It worked out better, because the girls were able to rest before the evening activities. We met with Maggie and her sweet family at Magic Kingdom as we transferred over to POR. Then we enjoyed hanging out with new friends and old ones to hear Yehaa Bob. That guy definitely has the energy. Brooklynn had a blast dancing around with her new friends.

Today, we
-open Magic Kingdom and have a lunch ADR at Plaza Restaurant
-come back to the room for a while
- not sure what the evening holds.

Hey MeMom~ we visited the Nashville Zoo this past weekend and I just HAD to share a particular photo with you...

All I could think of looking at them was "mingoes in the watah!" :goodvibes

It was nice to meet you and your girls last night! I'm glad that the weather has FINALLY cleared up and should stay nice the rest of your trip!

Very cool. :thumbsup2 Bella pretty much thinks those are hers. Those are Caribbean Flamingos, a lot darker than the Greater Flamingos at Animal Kingdom. Bella had two of the beaded ones here at the Out of the Wild gift shop at Rafiki's, and she was carrying on quite the conversation with them!

So glad everyone is enjoying the FB pictures. The weather has been so much kinder the past few days than it was the first few. After a while, that rain starts to wear on you, especially with little ones. We opened Magic Kingdom yesterday, swam, took late naps, and then went back out to Hollywood for a couple of things, dinner, and the late Fantasmic. We took our time on the way out of the park, had no line for the bus, and got back a little after midnight. I turned the lights out at 12:50. Jill is planning to just sleep until she wakes up naturally this morning, and then she has a date with some chocolate chip pancakes over at AoA. Or at least that was the plan as of last night. ;) Not sure what park she wants to do today.

If anyone has any picture requests, let me know. I promise nothing, but if our touring schedule allows, I am happy to send a dose of Disney magic to you.

I have been sending some random pictures, but since Jill does FB, I don't do many. Have a great day, all!

Great to hear the weather has improved but I'm sure you guys would have a great trip regardless.

Glad to hear the weather is better! :sunny:

Sounds like everyone is having a great time...swimming and going to the parks.

I havn't seen the recent facebook pics so I can't wait for your new TR to start.

Chocolate chip pancakes sound so yummy! It must be just amazing to see AoA in person.

Have a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Any day involving chocolate chip pancakes sounds like a good one to me! Have a great day MeMom and Jill! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to see your pictures of AoA...it was wild getting a picture of it from you, since I saw the progress of it from across the lake in January!

I just got the picture from Harambe, and it does look like it's a nice, sunny day finally. It's weird here...kinda cloudy, but really hazy, too. Hope you guys have a wonderful day!

All the girls opened Magic Kingdom this morning. We rode Jungle Cruise together, then Bella and I rode Aladdin's Carpets and went to Tiki Room while Jill and Brooklynn went to Pirates. John came by the time we were finished with those things, and we went to see Philharmagic. We were too close to horsies not to ride, so we had to do those. Then we met up with some friends from home up in the front of the park where they were waiting for autographs wth Pluto. We talked to them for several minutes, and Bella ended up getting her picture with Pluto, too, since we were right there. Brooklynn opted to sit in her stroller and cover up from the heat, which was getting scorching hot by that time. After that, it was time for Main Street Bakery treats. Treats were devoured, and we made our way back to Pop by way of an AoA bus that was sitting at the bus stop when we walked up. The afternoon held swimming and naps, and in just a little while, we're going to Epcot.

You guys alway get so much done! All we seem to do is eat :rolleyes1 and hit a few favorites.

Just curious, are the AOA bus stops as far away from everything as the POP buses are?

At three parks, they have been within a stop or two of each other. At Animal Kingdom, it's on the front row, as opposed to walking across to where the Pop stop is.

Sunny! Good to hear the weather is much better for you! :cool1:

It sounds like so much fun yesterday. Characters, friends, rides, swimming and bakery treats. Awesome! :goodvibes

The departure was not fun. Four out of four girls were crying at some point during the morning. I told Jill that next time we do this, it will be with me coming early with Brooklynn or Bella or both and then Mommy comes to join us, then we all leave together. It is hard enough to leave a Disney trip as it is, and then to part with your little girls - Jill with Brooklynn and me with Bella - that was hard on all of us. It will be good for each of the girls to be on their own this week and get to have some special attention, but the parting itself was not easy.

After they left, Brooklynn and I went over to Epcot. My thought was to take one more walk around World Showcase and then monorail over to Magic Kingdom. When we got to Epcot, though, it was so hot. My legs were already tired from the previous days, and my spirit was drained from the day's emotions. We ended up just staying toward the front doing some different things in Innoventions and then going only as far as Mexico and Norway to ride Three Caballeros and Maelstrom.

After Epcot, we took the monorail over to Magic Kingdom. We arrived just ten minutes shy of five o'clock, so I wanted to stay up front for the flag retreat ceremony. We were standing over to the side where I had Brooklynn shielded by the sun as best I could, and one of the Dapper Dans came over and befriended me. He 'chatted me up' for a couple of minutes, and then he spoke to Brooklynn for a minute. The next thing I knew, he was asking her if she knew how to say the Pledge of Allegiance. She said yes, and then he asked her to come and help him say it to the audience. :thumbsup2 I got my usual crummy shots from the side view, where they told me to stand, but the Photopass person gave me a card, so there should be some good shots coming.

A little bit later, in front of the Carrousel, the Pledge girl also pulled the sword out of the stone! She was on a roll! It was obviously just sword pulling time, though, because there was a Photopass person there, too, and there was more sword pulling done over the next few minutes. Still, it was cool for her to get to do it once. ::yes::

We met up with a gang of DIS folks later and rode some rides. We filled a boat on Splash Mountain. We stopped about 3-4 times during the ride, but started back up immediately. The last time we stopped, though, we sat for a while. Finally, the lights came on. In time, the music stopped, and we were walked off the ride. Happydog's boys were having a ball checking out all of the scenery where we were stopped, which was where Brer Rabbit was sitting at his door. You would know the one time I had the chance to get some still shots on that ride, I didn't have my camera or phone with camera - I had left it with Anita. :sad1:

This morning, I am letting Brooklynn sleep until she wakes up, so it could be noon before we make our way out of this room. ;) She is one tired girl! We ended up closing the park, see the 11:00 MSEP, and not getting in until 12:20.

Will check in later. I have to get this room straightened up from where we came in and dumped all of our stuff last night. Well, make that this morning. Have a great day, all!

Had some magic and pixie dust yesterday, nice to see.

Hope you both have another great day!

Hey MeMom! Finally getting away from the fantasy land (pun intended) of my NYC trip, I have DISTime once again :) Sounds like you've had a fun trip so far! I'm sorry to hear about those first few days of bad rain, rain... never fun and same with your separate departure. At least, you were still able to make it to EPCOT and MK later that day, sounded like lots of fun! Can't wait to hear more about it all :hyper:
