All AP holders can get DDE now-not just FL residents

I tried to order the DDE this afternoon and received a recording to leave my name and phone number. I dialed this twice to make sure I had to leave a message rather than talk to someone direct. I am wondering when they return your call as we are going to WDW Jan. 20th and I would love to have my email processed rather soon. I called at 4:10 pm (EST) and know they are supposed to be open until 5:00 PM. Anyone else have this same trouble?
Thanks,
:flower1:

You can absolutely use it for Character meals! :) We have a condo in Florida, so we have had this card in the past. We have used it in just about every sit-down (and some non sit-down) restaurant we have gone to. We have even used it at Victoria and Alberts! :earboy2: Enjoy!

Disnemimi-I left a message last Wednesday afternoon, and received a call back Thursday around mid-morning. I mentioned that we will be going down at the end of this month. I received the e-mail the next evening around 6 pm. I'm sure that they will get back to you sometime early tomorrow. Good luck! :)

I have used the DDE card at Crystal Palace and LTT. (LTT was even on NYE, with six guests.)
That being said, I would ask when making PS'. just to make sure nothing has changed, as now the holidays are blacked out and they were not before (from my experience).
You won't be getting a discount until you pay and show the card. Show the card up front when ordering.

disnemimi,
I got the same message you did I called around 12:00pm CST today and the first time I was on hold for a bit before I got the message the second time I got the message straight away. I sent them an e-mail instead of leaving a message because I had to work at 1:15...so I was excited to check my e-mail, but there was no e-mail back yet :( I leave on the 19th I guess I will try calling again tomorrow!

Do I trust that my card will be printed with the same expire date that you have? Or should I email Amy back as well?

I don't know, but I do like having her follow up email. I'm glad I asked. With Disney, nothing asked, nothing gained.

Since you are all so knowledgeable about Disney dining, I was wondering if with DDE card we can order just dessert? We are going to ordering our very first card in a few weeks as we just became DVC members in the summer, and so we are buying an AP as well - being Canadian we are greatly looking forward to the dining discounts! Anyway, I know that it's good for breakfast, lunch & dinner, but what if we just want to go in for dessert in the afternoon or late evening, or, can we order dessert with our meals and it's covered as well? Sorry, I guess I have 2 questions!

Thanks, Tiger aka Piglet's Momma

I talked to a live person on Friday and did not get my email until Monday. It was very hard to wait. The told me it woud take a few days, but I like to have things in my hands. So, over the weekend I checked and checked and checked. I would give them until Wednesday and then call back. It doesn't hurt to keep checking in with them.

Oh and on my email it said it expires 1/31/06. Has this really changed??

Yeah....I got my return call this morning (10:30 EST) so I am all signed up. Now I just have to wait patiently for my email. This should save us a bundle of money on meals. Thank you for all your support and advice.

Thanks to the boards, I ordered my DDE card, received a confirmation email and used it this past weekend at WDW. Three dinners and two breakfasts later, I saved $43.00 and it was just me and my mom. And the card is good until Jan 31, 2006 so I will probably get 2 more trips out of it.

I got our email a little while ago, so it only took 1 day. (And it does say our cards expire 2/28/06...the letter expires 2/28/05.) We're all set, yippee!!! :cool1: She also emailed the list of participating locations, not sure if anyone else mentioned that.

Nope I didn't get a list of restaurants with my email and the expiration date said 1/31/06.

I have never ordered just dessert and used the DDE card. But I do not know why it would not work.
It's any and all food purchases at participating locations/dates.

For those who didn't get this... This was in the email with our letter, rec'd 1/10/05:

Liznboys thanks for the list. I have looked ALL OVER for a complete list of participating restaurants. You're the girl! :earboy2:

Well I got an e-mail back this afternon form a lady named Rosa and the e-mail said I should leave my phone number and a time to call and a few other tidbits of info to expedite the process...so I hope that I will have an e-mail confirmation tomorrow!

Signed up yesterday. I was told that it would take 6 weeks to get the card, but the e-mailed membership letter would be all I would need to get the discount.

Yeah :) I just got mine...I ended up just calling after no one returned my call spoke to a gal named Amy she was great and it took like 1 minute. I'm supposed to get an e-mail tomorrow.

I think I have to get this for our October trip--there may be 10 of us going, and the savings would really add up.

Amy helped me yesterday and she was great. Pleasant and efficient. I received the emails in less than 24 hours. Card expiration 2/28/06.

We are so excited about this perk. :cool1: :cool1: I had mentionned it to my husband some weeks ago when there seemed to be hints that folks other than FL residents might be included. He listened with half an ear.

But I checked the DIS last week when we were on Maui and was so excited to read of this. When I described it again to him as an actuality, his eyes got larger and larger. He asked...even V&A? Yes!

Our dinner for 5 of us in Oct. was around $250 so the card would have paid for itself in one meal!!

Thank you WDW!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
