All AP holders can get DDE now-not just FL residents

Thanks DebbieB. Looks like it may well pay for itself in just one trip.

Just ordered mine!! Be prepared for a LONG time on hold however if you call when they first open. I called at exactly 9:00 their time and was on hold 58 minutes. I'm leaving this Sunday (01/09/05) and only have a voucher for my AP. She said no problem she would e-mail the purchase confirmation and I could use it just like it was the card. I started to ask her about 'all beverages' and before I could finish, she laughed and said including alcoholic beverages. I said alot of people must be asking and she laughed and said just about everyone that's been calling.

Only thing is I forgot to ask her what the exact total was. Does anyone know exactly how much my debit card will be charged for? I need to subtract it from my check book. I feel like a dunce for not asking.

Does the 20% discount apply to alcoholic beverages as well (i.e. if we order a bottle of wine with dinner will we receive a 20% discount on the wine as well as the food)?

If so this sounds like a great deal.

Yep, I've been on hold for awhile..
Took numerous attempts to get thru, too w/o hearing a busy signal.

Yes you get 20% off alcoholic beverages, including a bottle of wine! In fact, the card is good at many of the resort lounges.

A few more questions regarding DDE:

If I go to someplace like LeCellier and get the Chefs excursion, which is already reduced, or buy the AKL vouchers, will I still get 20% off the total bill?

If I buy today, can I call and make a reservation at Hoop-de-doo for the late night meal and get the discount?

Holy Cow 48 mins on hold and less than two minutes to order the card. But it is done.

Ok, here's a tough one.

I am an AP holder. DD 21 is not. However, she's arrving in Orlando in 3 days for a week's vacation.

I'm wondering if they will let her use the email confirmaiton. They'll be eating a lot of meals at POP.

herc

It is my understanding, from reading the material, that the AP holder must be present, to use their DDE discount. They can use it for up to 10 guests, but cannot "transfer" the card to a non AP holder without being present.

Just got our DDE card. Was on hold for awhile, but well worth the wait. We've got 4 trips planned over this next year so this card will come in handy!!!

:cool1:

The total is $50. Have a great trip!!!

My husband, son, and I are going back to WDW in October with his parents. We all have AP's. So can order the DDE and get my father-in-law's name on one of the cards? We may not spend every meal together and this way we can split the cost, making it 25 for us and 25 for them.

I just called and ordered mine! I was caught off gaurd when she asked for a second name for the second card. She said the second person did not have to have an AP, just live in the same household. Since I NEVER let my anti Disney :guilty: husband go on our trips (don't want him to spoil the magic, and rain on our trips :umbrella: ) I thew out my fathers name for the second card. He is coming on my next trip in March. How does the second card work without an AP, he doesn't have one?

I'm sure the girls are overwhelmed at the DDE office, in the past I've only dealt with 2 different CMs who handle this entire division, hopefully with the addition of APs having DDE priviledges they'll hire some more people.

NOW as a DDE holder for the past SEVERAL years let me GRIPE...I understand an introductory offer of $50 a year for new members from the AP program, but discounts for up to 10 people, well that's just plain unfair!! As a faithful DDE member for as I already mentioned the past several years, I can only use my card for up to 6 people, not fair, not fair, not fair!!

If they changed this for the FL resident card, please update me otherwise I WILL COMPLAIN. I just renewed my card 2 months ago and that's not right at all. As supporters of this program for the past 10 years almost...they should extend the same member benefits.

jwfla422,

The FL resident DDE was changed to 10 people sometime last year, prior to the AP discount being released. there were some posts about it here on the boards. And I see nothing that says the $50 rate is only for NEW DDE members, so I am assuming you can now use it as a renewal rate if you are also an AP holder, if you renew AFTER the $50 perk went into effect.

Thanks for the update Chuck-my little card thing that the cards are enclosed in still says 6 people but they probably didn't update the promo materials.

I renewed my membership back in Oct. so I'm pretty much outa luck as far as the $50 goes but I'm still thinking this is a PROMO rate for new membership-seems to be worded that way on allears.net "NEWS" web page?? I just can't see WDW slashing the prices $25 per membership on a regular basis.

It's not really slashed that much for renewal guests.
I paid $70 last Spring, since we have PAP's.
Renewal is $60.
So they cut the price $10/$15, depending if you are new or renewing.
I thought $70/$75 was high, considering guests are buying a discount card.
Knowing Disney. I am surprised the card did not raise in price.
Actually, renewal should be less than $50. But I won't hold my breath. ;)

Hey Chuck. I ordered the DDE today but forgot to get the confirmation number after being on hold so long. I called 7 hours ago and am still waiting for the e-mail. I know that the office is closed now but I was wondering how long I should wait before I call that phone number from "H-E-double hockey sticks" back?
