Staying at SSR in a 2BR for the first time at a DVC. Are all WDW DVC rooms the same size or do they vary by resort? Thanks!

The rooms of all sizes are considerably bigger at OKW than at the other DVC resorts.
The rooms at all the other DVC resorts are pretty much the same from resort to resort. There are some minor arrangement changes, but they pretty much all are the same size and follow the same pattern of room arrangement.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom at SSR and AK. We felt the layout in AK was much better, the kitchen was narrow and out of the way. The kitchen at SSR is a focal point.

Either some of the room square footages are not accurate, or the layout makes a LOT of difference, as you can see from this quote from a trip report from yesterday:
Greetings from BCV(our first visit here). My first impression is "boy is this 2br much smaller than SSR or VWL)
If you look at the chart above, SSR is exactly the same size and VWL is actually slightly smaller.

The listed square feet numbers are averages - not all the units are exactly the same size within a resort.

IMHO, layout makes the big difference in how big a room "feels". For example, some say the studios with a sleep sofa "feel" bigger than the OKW studios with two beds, even though the OKW units are physically larger.

If you leave out OKW, I think there isn't a noticeable difference between the various resorts. I do think the 1 bedroom and larger OKW units are (and feel) significantly larger than the other WDW DVC resorts.

I agree. We've stayed in OKW and BCV studios. The OKW studio is about 10% larger than BCV, however, the BCV studio looked bigger to me because of the sofabed instead of two queens.

In fact, if the sofabed had been comfortable either to sit on or sleep on, I might actually prefer that configuration for the 3 of us. But it wasn't, sadly.

[ETA: And yes, we had the new sofabed.]
