Alexandria VA information help....

We had lunch at Ketchup in National Harbor a couple years ago and thought it was pretty good. I had a really good grilled cheese and the sweet potato fries were really good too.

I just moved from Alexandria back to Richmond, VA and I found the food scene in Alexandria mostly overpriced and boring. That being said, the food in Alexandria is still better than the stuff you'll find at Gaylord. There were a few places I enjoyed and went back to time and again because I couldn't find much else good; I recommend:

Evening Star Cafe: Great for brunch, the chef was actually on an episode of Chopped last night

Dairy Godmother: Great frozen custard, it is in the Del Ray area just outside of Old Town (as is ESC)

Vaso's: Cool hole in the wall greek/italian place. Good pizza, salad, fish etc. Better prices than the restaurants on King Street.

Caphe Banh Mi was decent if you like Vietnamese, and Shanghai Peking is some of the best Americanized chinese you'll find in the DC area.
