Alex & Tim's PJ: SBP/Sago Cay/YSH 12/09/09: UPDATED-Hair is done!

Not much of an update really but we got our ADR's yesterday.

We booked the Yachtsman for our wedding evening meal, House of Blues for the welcome dinner the night before and San Angel for the day after.

I'm not overly impressed with the food at San Angel but love the setting and my parents haven't eaten there. I'm going to ask for a table by the river.

We also booked Jiko as a thank you meal for my parents before they fly back to the UK. We are using the limo in the wedding package to pick us up, take us to Cirque du Soleil and then over to AKL. They have no idea what we have planned for them!

Glad you got your ADR's sorted, that must be quite a relief now you know you have somewhere booked for your wedding meal! I know how important it was to me to get that sorted!

The surprise for your parents sounds awesome too, a great evening you have planned!

Well, that's another thing sorted! I had a call from Rosie at Disney Floral last week and we have chosen what we want.

I've gone for a deep red French bouquet but with the roses more open so it will look like a ball of flowers. I looked at the Black Magic roses and although they are gorgeous they are too dark for our accent colour.

Tim and Dad have the same red rose as the buttonhole and Mom has a white rose corsage. She has a red outfit and the red rose would have clashed so we went for white instead.

We are having white, pink and red petals for the aisle at SBP and the sand ceremony table, 3 chiffon bags of red petals for the ladies to toss and 1 long stemmed red rose to present to my parents.

I've asked for the bouquet and buttonholes/corsages to be delivered to the room as I have some crystals I want to add, and my Dad bought me a vintage sterling silver Disney charm as my something old that I want to add.

I'm not sure how much the floral will cost but when a girl wants roses... :rotfl:

Hiya,

THey will deliver to your room if you request it, but Rosie has offered to put the crystals and other 'bits' in the flowers for us. We are going to drop the stuff off at Franks for her a few days before the wedding. Bless her!!

Your floral sounds lovely! I love the look of petals down the aisle as SBP!

I can't wait to see pictures. Not much longer!

I love the Yachtsman! I dunno if anyone's said this yet, but there's a great waiter there named Oscar. I'll have to catch up on your entire P.J. now that I know you're having dinner there! ;)

We'll look out for him!

My PJ is a bit rambling and it has changed quite a few times with our plans but happy reading - and thanks for posting :goodvibes

Well, I've caught up! :surfweb:

My Mom wasn’t too pleased when we announced that we were going to get married at Disney – I think she thought it was going to be all childish and that they would have to dress up as characters. Oh if only!

Haha, before I took DF to Disney (he had never been before), I think he thought it was all about people dressed up as characters...and I don't even think he thought of Jasmine, etc., but just the ones in those character suits, lol.

I asked if they had the specific dress (Lynette) and was corrected on my pronunciation of 'Sottero' first of all (!) and then told they didn't have it. I asked if they had any of her dresses with pick-up skirts and they asked me what that was. Hmmm, not a good sign.

Wow, they correct you on the name of the dress, and then don't know what a pick-up skirt is!

I would like to introduce you to my new baby. Her name is Capri Royale and she is perfect:

I really wanted a dress that looked like Belle’s dress from Beauty and the Beast

Love it! :thumbsup2

One time when I was at the restaurant in the Polynesian I saw a girl in a dress JUST LIKE the Belle dress. It was April and she was there with her date before the prom. It was adorable. :)

Awww, how sweet is this? My Nan died last week and Mom told me she had left some money which Mom wanted me to have towards the dress. I was really touched. Mom said it would be Nan's way of bieng with me on the day

Aww. My grandmother's not doin' too well, but she gave me a pearl and diamond necklace my grandfather had given her to wear. :) I think part of it was cuz she wanted me wearin' somethin' of hers since my dress was my other grandmother's.

Mom and Dad are looking at villas, we are starting to put together an itinerary for the trip and looking at doing something special for them to say thank you.

I've been wondering what to get my parents for the longest time. Finally it hit me to get the hot air balloon ride thing at Downtown Disney. My mom has wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride since she first saw the film in France, so I know she will love it. I just dunno if it's my dad's thing. I'll have to see, and maybe get him something seperate. :)

We also booked Jiko as a thank you meal for my parents before they fly back to the UK. We are using the limo in the wedding package to pick us up, take us to Cirque du Soleil and then over to AKL. They have no idea what we have planned for them!

Love Jiko! :thumbsup2 Have you seen Cirque du Soliel? If not, it's awesome! popcorn::

BTW, when's your last day in Disney gonna be? I just realized we might be there when you are, lol.

Wow, you really did catch up! Thanks so much for reading :goodvibes

We went to CduS for Tim's birthday a couple of years ago and were just blown away with. My Wrinklies (as we call my parents) will just love it. We're also using the limo in the package that day to pick us up and take us to downtown disney, and then onto the Lodge. Perfect!

I'm sorry to hear about your Nan - it's horrible isn't it? Sending you love and hugs :lovestruc

Our last day in Florida is Sunday 27th December but we are staying onsite until the Tuesday before. The rest of the time we have in a villa which is our wedding present from the Wrinklies.

We got our BEO today and it is perfect, apart from the fact we need to change the number of guests for lunch which will affect the price.

We don't have the floral cost in it yet, but at least we know how much the bulk of it will be.

We also thought the unlimited drinks package covered alcohol but it is only soft drinks so we need to decide whether to include that or have it billed on consumption.

Our planner has done a great job getting everything we wanted absolutely spot on, even with some last minute alterations. We've decided to have the champagne toast at the Boardwalk and the cake cutting at the GF.

Just need to pay for it now. Anyone fancy helping out??!!

I told it its much cheaper to have it BOC.

Yeah, definitely. There is $100 straight off for a bartender if we want to do it as a package or an open bar.

I think we are going to have a few bottles of wine and leave it at that. There are only a few people who drink so it seems a complete overkill to pay for an open bar or have an alcoholic drinks package.

Disney's wines start at $35 for the house wine so I'm going to ask the drinkers what wine they would like and have it pre-ordered.

We had a bit of a stressful time this weekend trying to pay for the wedding.

We have a fairfx card and, now that we know the amount from Disney, wanted to transfer the amount across ready to pay. I tried to transfer $5000 (£3000) and it was rejected. My bank said there was no problem with the payment and it must have been the merchant (Fairfx) that rejected it.

I checked with Fairfx and they hadn't rejected the payment, my bank hadn't authorised it. Luckily the money hadn't moved anywhere - I had visions of £3000 floating around in a virtual reality somewhere!

Turns out i had tried to transfer more than the maximum amount for an online transaction which is why the bank hadn't authorised it.

The currency transaction with Fairfx was cancelled as they didn't receive payment so no harm done.

I need to get the money across in smaller amounts so it doesn't throw up the same problem, which is fine, but you can bet your life the exchange rate will go down as I'm doing it. Luckily we have plenty of time before we need to pay Disney so i can do the smaller amounts every day until we have what we need.

Phew!

We are having to do that as well as our credit card limit isn't enough.

We are having to do that as well as our credit card limit isn't enough.

That's one of the reasons we went with the pre-paid credit card - the limit you can have on that is $10,000. Plus we get a much better exchange rate than using a standard credit card and no transaction fees or % taken by the credit card company.

Oh my!
Now that is something that would set me over the edge!
I'm glad that you found a solution...

Oh yes, my edge was nearly well and truely crossed believe me!
We now have half of the amount transferred that we need and the other half will be tomorrow so no harm done, well, only to my nerves anyway!
