Alex & Tim's PJ: SBP/Sago Cay/YSH 12/09/09: UPDATED-Hair is done!

My neighbour called yesterday to say she had taken delivery of something for us and I had no idea what it was. I went to check it out and it was our contract from Disney!! Oh, and Annual Pass vouchers!!

So, got the Boardwalk booked. Got the villa booked. Got POR booked. Got the flights booked. This is getting serious now!!

YEAH FOR THE CONTRACT! :cool1:

YAY for your contract and for booking the boardwalk. I would love to stay there one day.

Hurrah for AP vouchers!! :cool1:
When we got ours I was like "they'll let us in now, we can go whever we want!", but of course I don't have enough spare change for a flight to Orlando tomorrow!

Thanks for mentioning another sand ceremony company on that other thread, will you post the details so I can investigate? :thumbsup2

No problem, I totally forgot today. I've just booted Tim off Warcraft so will pm you the details :thumbsup2

Wow everything is really starting to move forward for you now!
How much did you pay for the stretch hummer in the end?

It was $125 inc tax and gratuity and it was a 3 hour minimum booking. We've had it for 4 hours in total so we aren't rushed at all. I thought it was really good value.

Wow, I haven't posted in my own journal since January. That's outrageous!!

I haven't had much to update really, but now I have. YAY!!

We have decided to go for private dining at the GF for our wedding lunch. Couple of reasons - 1) it is a bit more 'special' than going to the GFC and we won't be doing it again 2) not as many people are coming so we are using the same budget to do the private dining.

I have a call booked with Disney on Monday to confirm the price as the menu price is for a minimum of 25 people and we only have 9.

We have decided against Le Cellier on the night as it seems almost impossible to get a ressie so we are going with the Yachtsmas steakhouse instead. We will be back at the Boardwalk for 1630 and I would like to make the reservation for around 1730-1800 to give us time to get changed. Afterwards we are going into Epcot for Illuminations and everyone will have their Disney tickets so it won't cost anyone anything extra.

What else?
We have our music sorted for the reception
We need to complete our contract and return to Disney
We have sorted out what we want for the cake
We've re-confirmed all details with the vendors
Tim and Dad have chosen the suits and accessories they want from Carolyn Allens
We have our ceremony and vows sorted out and need to send them to Rev Kev to approve
We upgraded to a pool/garden view on DVC for the villas at the Boardwalk as we were having to change villas the day before the wedding due to availability of standard villas. It has cost us $420 more but still great that we can stay at the Boardwalk.
I still love my dress and it fits even better now that I have lost weight and inches!

I'll post back when we have more updates :goodvibes

It all seems to be very real know if you know what I mean :scared1:

Had a call with our planner earlier today and decided on some other things:

We asked about changing the cake to the 2-tier happily ever after cake that Scarlet-le-belle has had. We can have it but would have paid a relocation fee to get it to the Boardwalk, then a cutting fee, then we would have had to get it back to the Grand Floridian for our lunch and then paid another cutting fee.

So now we are having the ceremony at the Boardwalk, going to the GF earlier for lunch at Sago Cay so we can have the cake cutting and champagne toast before lunch. All that for a bl**dy cake!!

We have also decided on the menu for the dining at Sago Cay and it wasn't as extortionate as we thought it was going to be which is great news.

We've decided to go for the drinks package (per head cost) rather than on consumption as we think it will work out better on cost for us. Half of the people that will be there drink and they like wine, so we figured if they had 3 glasses each that would be 3 or 4 bottles of wine. Amy told us the house wine starts at $35 and soft drinks are around $4 each so the package would work out better for us.

We have a call booked with Rosie in Floral on 12th September so all systems go!

Oh, we also got confirmation that we can use the limo later in the trip and they will come off-site to pick us up. We are taking my parents to CduS and Jiko as a surpirse and using a limo will be fantastic!

 glad everything is coming together for you!!

hmmm....can i sneak away from Dh and the kids in Epcot to spy on your wedding????? :rolleyes1

Would you be kind enough to share what the F&B minimums and menus wer for Sago Cay? We will be a small party (probably about 12 - 14) and this may be an option for us too
Many thanks
Joanne

Sure you can - come and spy!!

So what food are you having?

It was a choice of the Vizcaya Mediterranean or Ybor City which is Brazilian themed and we went for the Ybor City. Salmon baked in banana leaves with coconut curry sauce, spiced chicken, grains and lentils, breads, vegetables... Mmmm...

Yeah sure. There was a great selection of menus from $48.99 to $silly amounts depending on which one you chose. The 5 GF Lunch menus were great and ranged from $48.99 to $56 a head for a minimum of 25. The other menus were Wishes wedding reception and welcome meal menues and were much more expensive.

The GF lunch menus were Vizcaya Mediterranean, Ybor City Brazilian, Kissimmee BBQ, Asian Railroad and Italian Deli - priced from $52 in that order.

As there will only be 9 of us maximum the price went From $56 to $72 + 20% gratuity + 6.5% tax = $92 per head. That is for any number we have from 7 through to 9 as we can't confirm the number of guests, but the max attending will be 9.

The package for the drinks will work out best we think. It is $12.50 per head (+20% +6.5% = $16) and covers all drinks for 2 hours. The bill on consumption would have worked out quite expensive. Only half of the guests drink alcohol so we thought the BoC wouold have been better, but a bottle of house wine is around $35 so we figured 3 glasses wine x 4 people was about $100, and then adding in the soft drinks etc it came out quite pricey.

Hope that helps - if you need any more info let me know :goodvibes

Thanks for the info on the package drinks, I am doing BoC as I thought a package would be more but at $12.50/$16 it won't be.

we did a packaged bar and it worked out much better than BOC. I wasnt thinking people cant drink anymore I just told them to drink as much as they could!

Hey! Glad you're going with Yachtsman over Le Cellier. Honestly Le Cellier is played out, and over rated lol. You will love Yachtsman!!

Everything sounds great.
