alcohol in MK

That's so not true. Walt only drank juice or milk and extolled the virtues of clean living. The only reason you saw smoke around him is because he was always waving around small incense burners, because he was very diligent in sanctifying the park and exorcising demons.

Whahaha!

I'm pretty sure Be Our Guest is in the Magic Kingdom the same way Club 33 is in Disneyland, within the walls of a building entirely within the footprint of the park. How does the fact that it was a members only club change the fact that alcohol was being served within a Disney park, something you said categorically Walt would've never abided?

Simply because the general guests were not allowed in the club, an thereby not able to get drinks. Alcohol was not available to the general guests.

I always thought that was the Disney magic swirling around him and the cigarette was a wand.

I don't know what Walt would've thought, but I am not going to make assumptions based on what he said how many years ago. He also was a big fan of progress so he very well could have changed his stance on alcohol being served in MK. We will never know.

He never gave an indication that he would have allowed alcohol in DL. The books and stories I have read list one of the reasons he had the Club 33 so removed from main DL park, was because of his desire not to have alcohol available in the park.

Does one traverse Disneyland to get to Club 33? Is there a separate entrance outside the park? Does it have a separate address and receive a separate tax assesment? I'm just wondering how Club 33 is separate from Disneyland, aside from the need to be a member to enter. The Enchanted Tiki Room used to have a separate admission fee. Does that mean it wasn't part of Disneyland?

1) Alas, yes it is true.
2) By the way, the wind in MK is due to the breeze caused by Walt and Roy spinning in their graves.

NOTE Of course, Lasseter is not concerned, because much of the wine sold
at BoG comes from HIS winery (or supplied through his distributorship).

Lol!:rotfl2: Poor Roy and Walt, they must be so dizzy from all that spinning they do.

Your own statement was about pubs on Main street and doing a crawl, which leads to the expansion of sales in the MK, which would lead to the drunken parades we see at epcot now. Just making a point AKK

Oh I see, sarcasm is lost on you. Sigh.

I don't see your point, In my previous posts I explained it all.

Alcohol was not available for sale to park guests, only to members on a private club, 33, I and only in the club.

That need to be a member makes the difference, a very large difference.

I, for one, can't wait for pot smoking at MK. Just sayin'
I think that's a better match for Epcot too. :lmao: They could grow the plants in LWTL and sell brownies in Sunshine Seasons. Then, you have all those restaurants and snack kiosks in WS.. :smokin:

Wow, so if I was a humble day guest, I was too much of a lowlife to be trusted with a beer or a glass of wine? But if I was the CEO of General Electric or Monsanto, I was pre-cleared for fifteen Harvey Wallbangers?

Wow, I don't think I like that Walt Disney guy. He was kind of a poopyhead.

Ooo, careful. Blasphemy against Saint Walt or Saint Roy will not be tolerated!:duck::mad:..You will be taken to IASW and forced to ride repeatedly in penance!

As I said the traditions are what counts and to honor the wish's of a great man is plenty reason enough. specially as you pointed out, there is no reason to serve alcohol in the MK anyway. Please you need to check your history. The rumors about Walt being a racist or a sexist or against the Jewish folks have long been disproven AKK

I'm certainly not going all Meryl Streep over it, but there are plenty of quotes from the man showing that he had the same notions about those things as everyone else.

I don't think alcohol needs to be everywhere, but there isn't a legitimate reason not to have it either. Your idea of honor being a reason is fine for you, but I find it silly. Keeping everything about tradition would make progression stagnant. We've changed tradition plenty of times.

That's why people go to the parks in comfortable clothes and not their Sunday best. Nor are they allowed to smoke wherever they want.

Speak for yourself. I continue to visit the parks in my heels, LBD, and derby hat.

Aasrcher, I would love to see some quotes, in context.?........There were rumors but if you read a bit you will find those that knew him, even the ones that didn't even like working for him because he was hard to work for, all said he was not any of those things.

The famous story was that Walt was anti-Semitic. It started when Ib Werks left Disney after many years and people started saying he was anti-Semitic.
The real reason he left was to start his own company and later came back it Disney and was a cinematic genius and designed and built many cameras and gismo's to greatly improve films. He had many patents as well. Ib's own son issue statement that Walt was not anti-Semitic.

Well I respect your opinion, but I find no reason to put the alcohol in the MK, Nor do I know of any information or statements that would even suggest Walt would agree to change his mind.

Lets face it if your want a drink with dinner or lunch, its a short Monorail ride to many places.

I agree keeping traditions just for tradition sack would stagnant, but first you have a have a reason to by pass tradition, in this case there is no reason to have put alcohol in the MK.
