I don't see your point, In my previous posts I explained it all.

Alcohol was not available for sale to park guests, only to members on a private club, 33, I and only in the club.

That need to be a member makes the difference, a very large difference.

Can you spell it out for me?

OK....the fact that the drinks are only available to members of a private club, that only serve their private members and only in separate dining rooms, that is not part of the DL park and that the drinks are not available in the park top general guests makes the difference.

Just because Club 33 is located geography in DL, it is not part of the public areas.

Yeah, but you have to have a dinner reservation at BOG to have 1-2 drinks. No reservation? No drinks. Have a reservation? You still don't have to drink! Instead of needing a membership you need an ADR.

Really, is knowing that someone is consuming a glass of wine inside Beast's castle at 7pm going to spoil the magic for you?

All you're doing is repeating yourself.

In both situations only people eating in a specific restaurant have access to alcoholic beverages.

There is absolutely no difference.

No its not, but I respect the Man and his views and I see no reason to change it.

The real fear is that it will be expanded and we will find the MK filled with drunks and rude folks like Epcot has become on weekend evenings and during F and W.

MK is just that magical and so much a part of million of peoples childhoods and family memories. I would hate to pass on and make new memories to my grand kids.

Just so Iger can have a better bottom line.

We will have to agree to disagree.

So far no one has had a good reason to have alcohol in the MK.

To the bolded: exactly! And one would think that BOG is such an intimate atmosphere, if a guest were to (god forbid! *clutches pearls*) get a little tipsy, a CM would offer them water to taper them off. I did the same thing for my guests when I was a bartender.

Tonka's Skipper: you can stamp your feet all you want about this, but the fact remains that you DO NOT/DID NOT know Walt Disney personally, so your ASSUMPTIONS about what would fly if he were alive today are completely moot and are starting to make you sound quite foolish. And you keep crying "you won!", which is also making you sound like you're discriminating against those that do consume alcohol. So, thanks for that dose of pixie dust, old chap.

I have a good reason: Because people want it. In my opinion (and MANY others, including those at Disney that approved it), that's a good reason. To YOU, it may not be a good enough reason.

Its not, especailly since you can find any drink you want a few minutes away.

Aha! The riposte which cuts off all further discussion. We have been SERVED! Just not anything alcoholic.

One consumes alcohol for its taste and inebriating effects. It is, in the main, an agent for enhancing one's personal enjoyment. One would partake of it for much the same reason one would go to a theme park. So the reasons one would put forth for doing either would be much the same. If you object to either it's for reasons of personal ethics and I rather suspect I'll find Jimmy Hoffa before offering you a "good reason."

And that is YOUR opinion.

Have you heard the lawyers' aphorism?

"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table."

Good God but this table is getting a beating.

I don't know your point? Nothing new was being added, so to be polite people agree to disagree.

Those was indeed the good reasons to drink alcohol. I find good sharp mix of flavors the most enjoyable.

Those are not reasons to have alcohol served in the MK.

::yes:: Precisely.

Aasrcher, I would love to see some quotes, in context.?........There were rumors but if you read a bit you will find those that knew him, even the ones that didn't even like working for him because he was hard to work for, all said he was not any of those things. The famous story was that Walt was anti-Semitic. It started when Ib Werks left Disney after many years and people started saying he was anti-Semitic. The real reason he left was to start his own company and later came back it Disney and was a cinematic genius and designed and built many cameras and gismo's to greatly improve films. He had many patents as well. Ib's own son issue statement that Walt was not anti-Semitic. Well I respect your opinion, but I find no reason to put the alcohol in the MK, Nor do I know of any information or statements that would even suggest Walt would agree to change his mind. Lets face it if your want a drink with dinner or lunch, its a short Monorail ride to many places. I agree keeping traditions just for tradition sack would stagnant, but first you have a have a reason to by pass tradition, in this case there is no reason to have put alcohol in the MK. AKK

I'm on my phone. This article http://www.vulture.com/m/2013/12/walt-disney-anti-semitism-racism-sexism-frozen-head.html sums it up for me in a nutshell.

I don't think he was a racist bigot who hated women. I do think he had many of the same views as everyone else in that time period. He was a great guy, but still just a guy. No saint or earthbound angel. And the rumors on him being anti Semitic didn't start because someone left. It was because he joined an anti Semitic organization and had a Nazi over for dinner.

I also realize he was progressive and made strides towards breaking out of those norms... Also known as breaking tradition.
