Sorry I type slowly and not the best.........

Let see.about 4 years ago, we were leaving epcot for dinner at the flying fishs and saw seciurty high stepping a drunk guy with wife and kids in toe out the WS gate.

another trip one fellow was sound asleep on a benbch.............very drunk asleep.
The worse was Fand W, 2 years ago, I watched a drunk fall over a kid in a stroller , the father took care of him nicely. I saw at least 3 or 4 guys peeing in the bushes here and there and another couple in seciurty's care being lead back stage.

Friends have also seen the changes in Epoct.

Ho yes my duagther on one of her trips had a guy drunk bothering her...........he needed time to stand again.

OK?

How could you tell he was drunk?

OK, so that is approximately 7 people you have witnessed in your 11 trips spanning 40 years. My math sucks but that's an infinitesimal amount. IIRC, about 60,000 people are in MK every day. Yeah, not sure this is going to make any difference whatsoever.

YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT. You are not Walt, nor a family member, nor God, so how do YOU of all people know what he would have wanted 40 yrs later? When he created Disneyland he had a smoke shop on main street. At a theme park for CHILDREN. I highly doubt the smoke shop was for the kids. LOL. Do you think he minded when they got rid of it? In his day you could smoke anywhere, yet now folks have to hunt on a map to see where they can smoke. Do think Walt would approve of that?? None of us know what he would want now since things are sooo different and people using Walt as an excuse NOT to change are unrealistic. Walt was the creator, but not the decision maker of the future. His dedication will never be forgotten, but you can't hold what someone said decades ago into their death.

::yes:::)

How could you tell he was drunk?

which one?.the folks walking some still had glasses.............the omly one I can't be 100% sure on was the guy sleeping................I didnt get close and there was only 1glass next to him, he was qiuet and peaceful!

I tended bar in college, you learn the signs of a drunk beyond the obvious ones

Walt is a busy man for someone who died in 1966. Let's see, if those of you who are so wound up that Walt is crying in the great beyond right now because of wine at the MK, lets think about a few things.

In 1966, women didn't have equal rights. As a matter of fact, want ads were divided into women's jobs and mens jobs. Black people didn't have equal rights, either.

Birth control was declared safe for human use.

Psycho couldn't be aired on TV because it was declared too violent.

So, instead of me going further into a history lesson, times change. You have no idea what Walt wanted. That is the most overused, ridiculous phrase on the DIS. The man is dead, let him rest in peace and stop worrying about what Walt would think.

He's probably up there with a drink and a cigarette in his hand as we speak.

It's not the idea that people will walk around MK drunk or that people drink.
I'm sure plenty of people have drinks with dinner at the resorts and go to MK.
Gee a glass of wine wouldn't go good with a meal at Tony's ?

It's the idea of a long term policy changing just so they can make a few more bucks. i have seen plenty of change at MK over the past 26 years of going to the parks and belonging to DVC. Some for the better and some for the worse.
i am still going to go to WDW 3 times a year.

But would it be real terrible to keep one parks policies as it was originally intended ?

You mean like not allowing guests with beards? They changed that rule to make more money. We're you upset then?

But is was mostly at and W.........actually I never meant to say or mean that there are many drunk normal times, but it is becoming more noticable and more people are posting about it.

Some even brag about it as the folks a few posts back.........This is not what we come to WDW for!

The one that I bolded

I have friends/family who specifically go to EPCOT to get drunk drinking "around the World". Are these same friends going to go to MK to drink? Maybe not to get drunk, but I'll bet you they will go just to drink at BoG. Being a non-drinker myself, I have gone with these same friends, and just felt uncomfortable, but gone just because they're my friends (and my younger sis), and I love them. MK is the one place I didn't have to worry about! I'm not kidding! I've been the one to take the kids to go "do something else" (kid-friendly) while my friend and sis went to get drinks at EPCOT. I would rather not have to worry about family/friends at least in ONE PARK. It would just be nice. That's all I'm saying:)

Curious where that number you quote comes from. I find it hard to believe that any CM would be authorized to let you in on the responses their getting. Or even that one low level CM would have that info.

BTW...97% of stats are completely made up.

And of course most of the email would be negative. The people that are happy tend not to speak up. They have no reason to. Doesn't mean that the majority of park visitors are against it. The only way Disney would stop the alcohol sales is if they prove not to be profitable.

Are you asking me?

I have a beard!

But more to your point I ilke the clean look of Cm,s, beards are no biggy.

Plus when Walt set the rule in place, it was the start of the hippy era! Beards had a whole different conotaction then today

Please learn about the man and then you can speak with some authority....I have read and studed the man for years and can speak with authority..........YES he would be upset with alcohol in Disneyland and MK.

AGAIN...assuming you know someone. Honestly, that is really great that you have read and studied a lot about him. However, times have changed drastically since he was alive. I do not feel you should assume how he would feel in 2012. We evolve with the times....maybe Walt would have liked what is happening and maybe he would not. Bottom line is we will never know how he would feel if he were here today.
