Just checked reservations to see if prices dropped for my rental period. They went up from $160 to $360. What a difference! I hope this does not mean the place will be packed!

I have been trying my dates periodically too. Not seeing any drop in prices. Mine is for $170 for the equinox. Mar 5-12.

Price for our 'minivan' has shot up and almost doubled!

Will Alamo honour the rate I booked at?
Of course I'll be taking all the paper-work :thumbsup2

I have starting prepaying with Alamo really early. So far, I have not seen the price go down any more than the 10% you save. And that's less on my credit card for the vacation. I like doing it this way.

Booked an Equinox on 2/15 for 6/24 -7/2 for $122.47, that's with all taxes, surcharges and fees for eight days using an entertainment coupon.

I have an 8 day rental with Alamo for $109. total. I am a little worried that they are going to give me-us a hard time about the price.
I would get these great prices with National all the time and never thought anything of it.

Just bring a copy of your confirmation.

I would never leave home without it.
But I will still be waiting for them to do their "hard sell".

Avoid the hard sell by paying for your reservation the day before online so you can bypass the counter. If you are using a coupon you can not pre pay though.

I thought about doing that but they told me that the reservation cannot be over 30 days.
I just got too spoiled with National (12 rentals in the past year) they had these really low rates and just walk across and get the car.

What codes are you using to get such great deals from alamo? I booked a trail blazer in august for 207.00 and I thought that was great. Your rates make mine look bad.

I just happened on a Breezenet special, then when I called to confirm my breezenet res. I asked if there was any additional BJ discounts. There were and the agent applied them.... :cool1:

I used a Walmart code I found on MouseSavers:

Wal-Mart Customers (i.e. anyone) can get up to 20% off rentals at Alamo. Use Rate Code BY and ID# 430710. MouseSavers.com reader Jennifer B points out that "the Wal-Mart codes for Alamo include a free additional driver."

Same here Carole! I am going to miss walking over and picking out our car and taking off! I just checked my july alamo reservation and it went from $116 to $254 for the mid-size SUV! Glad i booked when i did! I will have that printed confirmation IN HAND when i go to get that car! It will be more important than the confirmation for the GV at OKW! LOL! :shamrock:

Okay, I'm really new to car rentals. I did book National for our May 20-21 car rental needs. Driving from WDW to Tampa and then flying out of Tampa the next day. I got an 'estimated total' of $47 for a Pontiac G6 from 1:30 on Sat to 8:30 am on Sunday. Then I went over to Alamo, put in my AP numbers, and got a Chevy Uplander (or similar) from 1:30 pm on Sat until 4:30 pm on Sunday for 'estimated total' of $93. When I duplicated that with National, it came out to $206!!! That's a pretty huge difference, even with a change in car. The Pontiac G6 (with National) was about the same per day as the Uplander(with Alamo). Any idea why there is such a huge difference in price? Will I regret booking with Alamo? Is there anything I should know before picking up/dropping off?? How about adding my dh as an addtl. driver?
