Alamo - What happens if I prepay then have to return car a day early?

If you prepay with Alamo is that money then non-refundable if you return the car a day earlier than scheduled?

We have a reservation for a minivan now for 11/27 to 12/7 but changed our plans so that we fly home a day earlier (12/6). I can't seem to even come close to matching the rate we have with a new reservation for our new dates but we wanted to prepay so we could skip the wait at the rental car counter.

Will we get any type of refund for the extra day if we return the car early or are we just out of luck?

i would call them directly and be sure to get the reps name.

I wouldn't be surprised if they charged your card extra because thats not what your reservation was for.

If taking a day off makes your rental short of the days required for a weekly rate they could charge you extra.

No we have a weekly rate then 3 extra days so this would only take off an extra day.

The original ressie is still cheaper than renting it now with the shorter amount of time. I don't want to call and risk them cancelling the ressie at this rate so I guess I will just ask when I bring the car back. If the line at the desk is short when we arrive I may wait in the line and ask then.

An Early Return fee is charged at a rate of $15 per rental when a vehicle is returned at least one calendar day early and total daily/weekly charges is less than the initial charged amount.

Ah ok, thanks. $15 isn't too bad if they end up charging us that - still much cheaper than the new rates. Thanks CarolA.
