We are renting a mid-size SUV with Alamo. It's are first time renting from them. It's actually my first time EVER renting a car. We are heading to WDW for the first time on 4/17. Sounds like the best way to go is to QS however, I didn't do that. At least I don't think I did. I did use a code and got a great discount rate. I pre-paid for the rental to get the rate. My reservation says to go to the rental counter on level one of Terminals A & B. Everyone is talking about going directly to the "garage". I'm confused. If I don't have QS, I can't go to the "garage". Sorry, I'm not sure what that means. Is it a problem to go to the rental counter instead of the "garage"? We have 2 sons ages 4 and 6 so the easier for us the better. Can someone explain this better for me? Thanks.

*********** is their "Frequent Flyer" program , if you will. You submit all your info, DL#, credit card info, etc. so they have it on file & your rental agreement is prepared in advanced. The *********** counter for Alamo at MCO is in the garage. If you have a *********** # you go directly to the garage counter. The regular rental counter is on the 1st floor of the terminal. This is where you go if you have not signed up for QS & have not rec'd a QS #.

Now, Alamo also has On-Line Check In for its cars. If it is available for your ressie (it should escpecially since you pre-paid) & you do OLCI before you leave home & print out your papaerwork you can go directly to your vehicle. Yes, I said directly to the car - no stopping at any counter. Since you are able to select any vehicle in the class you paid for you just pick one & drive to the exit booth where you give the attendant your paperwork, credit card & driver's license for verification & you are on your way!

Does that make sense?

Your reservation is elligable for the online check in service. 30 days before you leave (Now :) ) go on www.alamo.com click Check In Now! in the upper right hand corner, enter your last name and confirmation number, answer the questions and youve checked in. When you arrive in Orlando, leave baggage claim, follow the signs into the Car Rental Garage for Alamo, and proceed to the row with "Midsize SUV's" on it, choose any midsize SUV, exit the garage and stop on the way out at the gate. They will process some quick paperwork and you will be on your way....Hope this helps.

Wow..now I feel a lot better. You mention that I can go right to the vehicle. So I get to pick what I want before even seeing anyone at Alamo?? After I pick my SUV from the lot, you mentioned that I then go to the gate to show my paperwork. Do I actually drive the car to the gate or walk over then and let them know what car I want? If I drive the car to the gate, are the keys already in the car?

Thanks.

Yes, you need not see 1 person before you drive to the gate :) The SUV's all have key's in them, put your luggage in the back, drive it out of the aisle and pull up to the gate. They scan the car (kind of like checking out a book :lmao: ) and they do a minutes worth of computer work and send you on your way. When you return your car, follow the "Rental Car Return" signs and watch for the Alamo sign. Follow the ramp, and it will end in the garage, where you exit the vehicle, they look it over briefly for any damage and check it back in, handing you a recipt and sending you on your way...

Wow...this can't be any easier!!! Thank you so much for all your helpful posts.

One last question..hopefully. I would like to add my husband as a second driver. Can I still do this since I prepaid for it? Is there an extra charge? Will this case a problem with my discount?

IsQS the same as ALamo direct road?

I have given my details to ALamo through https://www.alamodirectroad.com/directroad/

and was wondering, so I just go to the car and drive to the booth and hand over my reversation number, as they have not taken any payment details off me!

Yes, the Q U I C K S I L V E R service is the same as the Direct Road (Direct Road is the Canadian/UK service). I believe with this service, you will proceed directly to the garage, but go into the Alamo Desk in the garage. I might be wrong, but that is my guess...

When you go to check in for the vehcle, there is an area to add another driver. Ive never had any problems with this changing the rate, but theres allways a first ;)
