Alamo Premium car selection at MCO

Alamo at MCO - The difference between Standard and full size weekly rental is $7. The standard and full size vehicles are the same at MCO, correct? Is there any reason the spend $7 more for the full size? Not a significant money, but just curious.

That is not a premium car, it is a premium Crossover, BIG DIFFERENCE, you got very lucky.

Yes, I know it was a premium SUV, no need to yell! Just telling you of my experience. There were multiple SUVs on the row the day we rented as well as many sedans. We opted for the SUV.

Last year, April 2012 we had rented a premium car from Alamo.... Was half the price of other options from the company at the time. We got over to the garage to rent it and there wasn't a premium in sight.... on either Alamo or National. The counter folks asked what would suite our vacation best and I said and 8 passenger anything. (which we couldn't afford to rent) They said if we would wait 20 minutes they would bring an 8 passenger minivan around from the wash station. They did.

It was worth the wait and save us cash for parking at Disney for out 11 day vacation. The other family could ride with us and they only needed their car a few day. They also offered to catch up with us with a premium later in the week if that is what we wanted.

When our flights home got cancelled Alamo was great about us returning the van a day and a half late, returning to a different airport... for less than 20 bucks!

The Caddys are Luxury.

That was what I thought. They were all in the same row and the Alamo guy said choose any car in this row. They were parked with all the rest. We had to get an employee to show us which aisle to choose from because it wasn't marked. Granted, this was 2 years ago so things have probably changed. :)

Don't think they are hid on the Alamo aisle. As I said in my previous past, we had a premium car rented from Alamo for last Oct 27th-Nov 7th. There were only three to choose from.

Well that exceeds the National Aisle :rotfl2:

According to the National Rep they hide them there to keep the Executive Elite from self upgrading (this was after he RUDELY told me that I was "entitled" to a premium and seemed shocked when I pointed out I had reserved one so I was "entitled" to it!)

No, there is no reason to spend the 7.00 more. Standards and Full size are in the same row.

I was not yelling. I was being emphatic so that other readers would not assume that it was normal to find a premium SUV on the Premium row. As I said, you got very lucky and I am happy for you.

The rows are marked in the signs above, the signs that say Alamo above the cars have the car class just below it. And, they are supposed to direct the renter(as in walk the renter to the row) to the proper row, not just point. I wish they had ground signs for the rows, it would help the renter a great deal.

That is not true. On A side they are just one row over. On B side they only have 2 or 3 spaces for the Premiums. If what the National greeter told you was true, they would hid anything to prevent self upgrading. But, the Luxury and coverts, Suvs , etc are all parked in the choice rows. Sounds like you encountered a greeter who had a very bad attitude. I can almost guess which one and it was not me. :)

They do try. They gave you a Sienna rather than a premium. Glad it turned out so well for you.
