I'd always rented from National EA on all my past trips but their price was $80more for the week than Alamo. I love the convenience of EA and just heading directly to the garage and driving off.
However, the slight detour to the Alamo kiosk was minor. I had joined Insiders and used a code and plus a coupon so I could not check in online. I headed down to the Alamo area, walked up to a kiosk, scanned my reservation, inserted my CC and filled out a few questions, got my print out and headed to the garage to pick out my car. The procedure was flawless and took maybe 5 minutes. There was a guy from Alamo nearby to help if needed.
return procedure was the same as National's with no issues.
If the Alamo price is better than National's I would not hesitate to use them again.
