Al Gore

There may be global warming but not to the degree and cause that Gore would have us believe. Mankind's contribution is no doubt relatively small and science is beginning to refute many of his claims already.

Can you provide some evidence that the science community is refuting Gore's claims?

Last I heard the leading science organization had backed Gore's finding in "The Inconvenient Truth."

Personally I would like to see a Gore/Obama ticket. It would be great if they could get Bill Clinton to serve as Secretary of State. I'm just not sure if the Clintons would get over losing the nomination.

As far as Obama goes, he just announced that he has raised $30 million, more than Hillary's $27 million. Right now the poll numbers aren't really supporting his jump in fundraising, but there's still time. LOTS of time.

I'm a Republican, and I think that Al Gore has no chance of winning with the election, but with that said I'm not really crazy with any of the republicans, expect Mike Huckabee the former of gov of Arkansas, but I don't think he is well enough known to make much of a splash

I know that Al Gore has voted against some crucial military issues. I do not think all democrats would. It really is just all about Al Gore to me. I like John Edwards, I like Mcain (no he isn't a "democrat", but the closest thing on the republican side to it).

At least Gore was in the military. He served in the Army as a military journalist, but he went to Vietnam. (I know McCain did too, but he's got even more baggage than Gore).

Face it. If Ralph Nader hadn't entered the 2000 election, Gore would have been president. I do think Gore shot himself in the foot by down-playing the environment during his last run, but I don't know if he had the information then that he has now.

Lets not forget Al Gore invented the internet:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Just image what he can do as president:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

As a democrat, I would LOVE to see Al Gore run. He would have my vote before anyone else's.

Clinton made major cuts to the military. He halted military development, wasted critical weapons and allowed our forces to become dangerously weak. Men and women who had been serving for many years and close to retirement were forced to take early retirement packages because of the lack of funding. SO this is what scares if Gore, Edwards, or Clinton were to get re elected. Right now p[promotion levels are high, raises are given every Jan., housing allowances are almost up to where they should be, and programs for family support are being funded.

I do believe that the drawdown of the military budget started towards the end of Bush 1 because of the need to cut budgets.

Wait. She has to go to Drudge or Free Republic to find the latest biased Op Ed article from scientists funded by the oil companies.

I'm one of those crazy people who think BOTH mankind and natural cycles are equally to blame. Dawn might grudgingly give mankind a 1% to 99% natural. Not very logical imho, but any theory that puts any blame whatsoever on big industry automatically becomes bogus, according to the right wingers.

Scientists also claim that the planet Mars is heating up at the same rate as planet Earth? Should we blame big industry for that to or could there possibly be another explanation?

Perhaps you missed where I said both are equally responsible. Unlike some, who for the most part discount manmade pollutants entirely, I believe both sides have merit. Okay?

I'm in total shock! A long and serious post.......wow Pop Daddy you have never been sexier!

After Bush winning 2 terms how could anything scare you :confused3 :rolleyes1 ?

I'm glad he scares you. :) He doesn't scare me at all.

I won't be voting for Gore because I just don't trust him.

Back in the day, Al sicked the IRS on a scientist I knew.
See.... Al Gore doesn't like it if you have scientific data that appears to conflict with his environmental paradigm.

Because this study contradicted Al Gore's conclusion... the good senator had the IRS audit the scientist's financial records. (Trying to discredit the scientist.) Don't worry no financial kick-backs involved. The scientist survived the IRS audit and yes, the data was valid.

Walk softly on your carbon foot print my friends. Walk Softly!:tiptoe:

I disagree with your diplomacy thinking. I don't think the enemy we are dealing with right now cares about diplomacy or anything else. The enemy we are delaing with now is looking for domination. They hate "the West"...our freedoms, our ideas, our ideals. They hate it all. They don't want to live in a world where some people have the freedoms we do...and believe me, even though there are those who will say "our freedoms are being taken away"...they aren't. We are fighting a war of ideals...not oil, not religion, not anything other than they don't like the way we live and they won't be happy until we are living their way.

Last time I checked, the Iraqi people didn't have a problem with the way we lived--that was the terrorists and I think our current strategy has more in common with their ideals than it does with the ideals listed above: They believe in violence to spread their ideals, and apparently so do we; they believe in secret prisons, and apparently so do we; they believe in torture and apparently so do we.

We as a country should be leading by example. We should be using diplomacy to strengthen our bonds with our allies and re-establish the trust we had with them so that the world can fight terrorism together through cooperation and not by invading other countries and forcing them to bend to our will.

I'd vote for Al Gore in a New York minute. Would love the opportunity to do so again. :) :) :)
