Im a republican (just so ya know where Im coming from), and I feel both Clinton and Obama have a lot of automatic no votes in the general election, While both could win I still like are chances. Edwards, I just dont think he has it.

But Al Gore scares me as someone who could win it all, he one the popular vote once, and he would get the liberal part of the party excited and he is from the south, As a republican we know we must sweep the south if we have a chance to win. Thoughts from D and R,

btw Im not comming back to this thread, I dont want to debate but just wanted your thoughts.

I think he would definitely win the Dem nomination and probably win the White House.

That makes me :scared:

If Al Gore runs he will get my vote. I would love to see a Gore/Edwards ticket.

As much as the right wing vainly (and mistakenly) tries to paint him as a nut job, he is still immensely popular with Democrats and moderate Republicans also. If anyone could give the frontrunners a run for their money, it's Al Gore, imho.
If the Conservative Republicans make the mistake of underestimating him and they dismiss him as a joke, their laughing might just come to an abrupt halt next November.

He would have my vote Nothing personal Pop Daddy. I hope you still like me! :goodvibes

I would Vote for Gore. I do not like anyone else running so far. Bloomberg's interesting also but I'm not sure he could win.

:faint:

I pray every night that Gore will get back into the race. I think he'll make a fantastic President.

Yeah, cause Democrats don't care about stuff like that. We can't wait to surrender. :sad2:

Oh yes, put words in my mouth. We need a president who understands that a strong military is the FOUNDATION and the MOST important thing in this country. I don't think Al Gore fits the bill, I KNOW he doesn't.

I would not vote for him.

He has a lot of liberal friends in high places, so I can see a big Hollywood push for him to be elected. So much of the country is swayed by that type of support, so I could see him getting a lot of votes.

President? Maybe not, since he isn't running (yet) and we don't know who he would be running against.

Really? Has he said so? I must have missed that speech.

His actions speak louder than words. Also, do YOU as a democrat identify totally with a president?:confused3 You seem to think that because I don't like Al Gore, that I think all liberals are crap. I certainly don't agree with everything Bush does, and quite frankly, I really don't like him.

It just confuses me that you think b/c I have a problem with Gore, that I have a problem with the whole democratic party.

Because I've heard that same tired argument way too many times and not just about Al Gore. Democrats are NOT weak on defense. Can you honestly say Al Gore or any Democrat President would turn his back on our safety? That's just a right wing propoganda point that has been spouted so many times by so many Conservatives, people begin to believe it.

If this really is specifically an Al Gore thing (I still disagree vehemently btw) and not a party thing, I apologize for lumping you in with the others.

I know that Al Gore has voted against some crucial military issues. I do not think all democrats would. It really is just all about Al Gore to me. I like John Edwards, I like Mcain (no he isn't a "democrat", but the closest thing on the republican side to it)

I really dislike Bush, our troops should be home, not fighting this "war". The immigration issue is disgraceful, the spending is obscene, I could go on and on.

I disagree with the premise that what our country needs is a strong military. I think what our country needs right now is strong diplomacy. No Republican fits that bill.

I see Al Gore as the second coming, politically speaking. I think he could truly lift our country up from depths that we have sunk to under the current occupant. However, I do not think he will run. So who is the next hope? I'm liking Edwards more and more.

The minute Al Gore even pops his head up in this race, the Clinton attack machine goes into high gear. Frankly, I don't see how anyone beats Hillary at this stage. It's all about money, and she has tons.
