I'm wondering how much time I should expect to go from Kidani to MK. I will be traveling with a 5 and a 7. The 5 generally takes a midday nap. It would be awesome if we could go back to the room for it, but not sure how much time ? hassle it would be. Is there somewhere I can see a bus schedule? Ie how often do they run and how long is the ride.

Thanks

They say the buses run approx. every 20 minutes, but to be honest, it's usually faster than that. Yes, it could possibly be 20 minutes or longer if there's an issue going on, but rarely have I ever waited a whole 20 minutes. Even if the MK bus just pulled away as I'm getting in line.

With that said, by the time you exit the park, walk to the bus, wait, ride to the resort, stop at Jambo (cause I think it stops there first) then Kidani, I would allow at least 45 minutes to an hour. From time you exit MK till you're walking in your room.

We always go back midday as well with my littles. They're 6 and 4 right now.

Returning bus goes to Kidani 1st.

Order of buses within AKV is determined on where they are headed when they leave AKV, not where they are coming from. Buses going to a Theme Park stop at Kidani Village first. It it's headed to DTD, it will stop at Jambo House first.

We never stay all day in the park. We go for awhile in the am say 10-1 then have pool time until 4 or 5 then more park time and diner time.

transportation also goes to the "blizzard" water park for pickup/drop off.

Only Animal Kingdom Theme Park buses. Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas Buses do not stop at Blizzard Beach.

Wait, so when staying at Kidani, I can't take a direct bus to Blizzard Beach? How about TL?

There are specific buses that go to the water parks from AKV. Someone made the comment that

Buses returning to AKL/AKV may make a stop at Blizzard Beach first. Unless the sign on the bus says Blizzard Beach when it leaves AKL/AKV, it will not stop there on it's way to a Theme Park.

You can! It shares a bus with another theme ark. When we stayed there the DHS bus stopped a blizzard beach too. As for TL it most likely shares a bus with DTD. Just check down at the bus stops. It can vary depending in how crowded it is.

The bus that serves studios is usually the one that also goes to Blizzard Beach. The bus that serves Downtown Disney is usually the one that goes to Typhoon Lagoon. The bus sign that flops up in front of the bus as it approaches the bus station will tell you where it is going. The same buses will go to only studios and DD during the time of day when the water parks are closed.

Thanks everyone, I wouldn't think disney wouldn't offer transportation to water parks from only one resort

This all seems like a lot of work for a nap. I`m not sure how your kids are, but mine would fall asleep on the bus ride back to the resort, wake up upon arrival and not sleep anymore after that.

Perhaps your 5 year old would fall asleep in a stroller in the park. I always found that to be an easier option for us when we were not at BLT. Just a thought!

It will be closer to 30 min bus ride but you may have a 15 min wait for the bus and if you have a large group ahead of you it could be longer. The other think to keep in mind is with a 5 and 7 yo you may find yourself standing.

Thanks for all the info. Maybe by the time we go next winter they won't need to stop mid day? Sounds Ike 2 hrs round trip!
