AKV concierge

We will be staying at AKV concierge this summer. I was just wondering what all is included....details please.

Donald is #1-Thank you so much for posting the link to your trip report. I finally had a chance to finish reading through it. It was great & your pictures were awesome!

I do have a couple of questions:

1. I was a little confused about your comment about the guy who was drinking beer & kept talking a lot. You made a comment about the floor he said he was on. Aren't all of the concierge rooms on the top floor at AKV? My husband & I stayed at AKV last summer (not CL), but it looked like CL was on the top floor & not just anyone could ride the elevator up there.

2. Someone had asked you about the IPO. I know you said you weren't sure about that, but just wondered if you knew anymore now.

The lounge is shared with AK Lodge guests. There rooms are on the 4th floor. The lounge itself is on the 6th as are the club level villas.

What was the question about IPO?

At AKL&V, the IPO is fantastic BTW. Donald is an amazing concierge.

IPO question: I guess my question is what exactly is the IPO? We are DVC members & booked our reservations at our 11 month window for CL. So, as DVC members should we contact someone to make our dining reservations for us, or do we just call member services. Our trip is in August & I haven't really heard about an IPO. Thanks!

The Itinerary Planning Office will make any and all reservations for you. They schedule the Safaris, make dining reservation, answer any questions you have, etc.. . You can contact them right now if you wish. Sometimes they have make the first contact, other times I have.

If you have not heard from them by 100 days out or so, contact them. Since all reservations are at 90 days now, you will want them to get set to make yours. I usually make my own dining reservations but ask them to make Safari reservations (they're the only ones that can do that as best I know) and on occasion for a difficult to obtain reservation. It will probably be a while before we stay club level again but I'll probably ask them to make all my dining reservations in the future if the process has become as cumbersome as some reports indicate.

BCV23-Thank you for explaining that. I think I will definitely let them make our dining reservations. Free dining will be going on while we are there & I have a feeling it could be hard to get some of the places we want. Do I just call the Animal Kingdom Lodge number & ask for IPO?

I use email to contact them for the most part. Or at least it was when I was planning our trip there last month. The address does change from time to time. Be sure to include your reservation # in your email if you go that route. I put it in my subject box so they know I have a reservation there.

I do call them with a cc# when that is needed (safaris,etc.) but after I make the initial contact.

They have always been very prompt in returning emails. Don answers before I ask it seems. He is exceptional.
