Well the title says it all, I wanted to know what kind of views the concierge studios have at AKV- I know they are not guaranteed, but has anyone requested anything and gotten savannah view? Thanks for any help!!:goodvibes

There are 5 2 bedroom lock offs. 3 face the sunset savannah and the other 2 face the pool. We've had a savannah view once, and pool view twice. However, the pool view that we've had is really more of a roof view.

Thanks for your quick response Bobbi!! But you can only make a request right, none of these are guaranteed?

I think that they took the guarantee away. The views, pool or savanna aren't the greatest. You are over/under the roof and the savanna is a dead end without very many animals.

We made the request for a SV and the request was granted. Keep in mind that the CL-HA villa has a SV - this is the one that we got. It doesn't have a jacuzzi tub/shower....just a roll in shower (I'm sure there are other HA features as well). It took some getting used to. The views from up there are somewhat awkward but when we stayed we did see a few animals each day.

Many of us feel the reason to book CL is the opportunity to take the Sunrise Safari, and the Sunset Safari at a reduced rate, plus use of concierge for booking. And many folks love the daily housekeeping and turn-down. The views are just not the best, although on the savanna you get CJ the eland.

What are the available views for the studio concierge rooms? When making a request do you just email the concierge desk?

The 5 units are 2 bedroom lock offs. The views are 3 sunset savannah and 2 are on the pool side. You can request a view with MS.

I have a CL studio booked for this coming nov/dec. I completely forgot they to daily housekeeping! To be honest now that I think about it I don't even know if I knew that lol. Hmmm

in case you didn't know, a lockoff is a 2BR that "locks off" into a studio plus a 1BR divided by a door.

so 5 concierge 2BR/lockoffs mean that if 2 concierge 2BRs are booked, there are 3 lockoffs left, meaning no more than 3 studios (and 3 1BRs) are left.

I found this out last week from MS. Disney Management decides how many 2 bedrooms, how many 1 bedrooms and how many studios will be loaded into the reservation system from the lockoff inventory at all of the resorts. Once loaded, MS can not take a 2 bedroom and split it to make a 1 bedroom and a studio.

Of the 5, 2 bedrooms on the 6th floor at Jambo House, currently there is 1, 2 bedroom, and 4, 1 bedroom, and 4 studios.

Thanks for all the great information, especially the info about daily housekeeping and turn-down - I don't think I knew that.

We are staying at AKV CL in a Studio in April, booked it at exactly 11 months out, and when I called back about a month or so later, was told that I couldn't even put in a request for a view. "If you want Savanna View, you need to book Savanna View." She told me I could request it at check-in but I think by that point it's too late. Maybe I should try again.

For CL it isn't an option to book a particular view. You may phone and see if they will make a note of your request, but it isn't possible to actually book one view or the other.

She was mistaken. You can book a savanna view for a regular room but not CL. There was never a guaranteed view for CL, only a request. I have seen posts saying they are no longer taking view requests for those rooms.

I stayed in CL about 3 years ago. It was a friend's "milestone" birthday and she made the reservation, lucky to get it at 7 months. She requested savanna view but was disappointed when we got there and got pool view. The cm said since there are only 5 lockoffs, assigning rooms is like a puzzle, it's difficult to move people around. They have to be careful because they can't have someone who booked a 2 bedroom and not have the 1 bedroom and studio connected. So they not only have to look at the arrivals on that day when making assignments, they have to look at arrivals on future days.

If you end up with the first studio on the savannah side ( closest to the lounge) your view will be of someone else's balcony and as such, they can see into your room. If you want SV, better to not book CL unless you are prepared to have the worst SV views on property. What you are paying for is the CL service and access to lounge.---Kathy

Just feeling lucky to stay CL. We'll see whatever we see...we had Savanna view last spring for our first DVC stay and it was fun, but we'll do it again! Looking forward to many more years of experimenting with different levels and resorts.
