We're renting points and staying in an AKV studio in January with our then 8 month old daughter. Anyone know if the rooms have a pack n play or if they can be requested. I'd hate to have to lug ours down. Also, can we request daily maid service? What's the cost? Thanks!

I believe I read that daily service for a studio is $30 per day.

I do believe that there is a pack-n-play in the unit that surrounds the flat tv screen, in the bottom cupboard. I had to take it out to make room for all the stuff my sister and I brought:eek:

One of the best things about DVC is no regular housekeeping. It's such a nice thing not to have to worry about coming back from the park and taking a nap or just lying around the villa without having to wait for the housekeepers to either finish or start the process. Pull the covers back over the bed, hang up the towels and have fun. No worry about a knock at the door when you just get the little one settled for a nap.

You'll have a vacuum in the closet with the pack and play. So if you do have a little mess, you can vacuum it up yourself. The trash rooms are just down the hall. So if your trash can gets full or the diapers start to smell, you can take them to the trash room yourself.

If you are staying 7 nights or fewer, on Day 4 housekeeping with change out your towels and remove your trash. If you stay 8 nights or more, they will do a full cleaning on day 4 and towels and trash on day 8.

I'm not sure if they still have them, but 6 years ago at BWV we requested a regular crib instead of a pack n' play & they had a metal crib, which was better for our son, who didn't like the pack n' plays---no clue why he didn't.

Every DVC room I've had since has the pack n' play. I'd bring my own sheet for comfort & familiarity.

Personally, I don't miss the maid service. It's easy to hang towels up or shh! grab a few from the pool & return them of course.

Do all DVC rooms come with a pack and play? Is pack and play the same as porta-crib? We're trying to buy BCV and that would great if it came with one.

Yes, all DVC rooms (or at least all that I've hear of) have a pack and play.

They look sorta like this (the "hanging" part in the middle is for infants...toddlers would just sleep in it without that piece...with the mattress just place in the bottom):

I consider them to be the same as a portacrib, but varying search engines turn up some pretty different stuff, so I'm not sure what YOU consider a portacrib. :)

That's exactly it! I love finding about all these hidden benefits that I've never even thought of. I even emailed the owner's locker guy about storing my pack n play, not knowing all the rooms come with one. I thought it was odd that I would be the first one to ask owner's locker guy a question about that. Thanks guys...
