I'm wondering, specifically during F&W, if the environment would be better with kids (5&6) at AKL during October?

I've stayed at AKL before so I'm familiar with the transportation hassle, but I think in some ways, it'd be a nice break from the EPCOT area. I've heard that during F&W, Epcot can become a rowdy park. I'm wondering if that carries over to the epcot resorts?

We're trying to decide between BCR or AKL if that helps.

Thoughts?

Both are great resorts. What park are you going to go to most? With the ages of your children if it's MK, I'd go with a resort in that area.

We own at both BCV and AKV through DVC, both are awesome resorts! I would recommend BCV if you have kids, it is much much more convenient. You can walk to Epcot, take a boat to the Studios and you have the boardwalk there at night as well. Our kids have always loved the Beach Club (their favorite resort)!

p.s. the pool is AWESOME too!!!!!!!

AKV. :thumbsup2 It's such a great resort with kids especially if you get a savanah view. My kids thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the animals. They ate their breakfast on the balcony every morning. So much fun.

We own at BW and if I had kids, 5 and 6' I'd go with AKL. F&W can definitely get crazy.
Seeing the animals is magical,

AK is a great resort! We stayed there our first family trip to Disney and could not have asked for more (and we always go in October as well).

Epcot will have the Food and Wine Festival, but I don't know how that translates to the resorts. The park itself is so big that we've never had any really crowded days there (and we go the week in October when it's a bit busier - right around Columbus Day).

I voted for Other and I say you should consider the Boardwalk Inn. They are a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway of Epcot and in my opinion they have the best theme and atmosphere of the Epcot Resorts.

The "rowdiness" at Epcot during the F&WF generally occurs, if at all, on Fri/Sat evenings, so it's pretty limited and easily avoided. That "rowdiness" does not carry over to the Epcot resorts at all (at least it hasn't for me, during the last four years when I have stayed at an Epcot resort during the time of the F&WF).
