Akl Not Available For Fdp...only Standard

Has anyone heard this? I just called and was only allowed to book standard not pool or savanah..

Disney only has x amount of rooms they are willing to discount if they have reached or close to reaching their allotment on discounted rooms for a particular category they won't offer it with the free dining even though they may be available at full price.

I posted this a few weeks ago saying that the more people book at regular rates the less availability there will be with the discounted offer but I was basically laughed at

AKL is converting a block of rooms to DVC use. The inventory of Savannah rooms has been reduced.

Makes sense for Disney to hold back the premium view rooms. Disney can always offer paid, or even free, upgrades if they have enough inventory.

Hi Cathy,

As I suspected, the deluxe rooms are not available with the FREE dining plan, nor are the savanna view rooms.

I was, however, able to book Disney’s Polynesian Resort for you.

My kids were so looking forward to the animals. Oh well, I guess, I will have to suffer in paradise rather than on the safari. Should I be disappointed???

The only rooms at the poly are garden view at this time. I wonder if they will open up MK view rooms soon.

Deluxe are available, but not most standard rooms in deluxe. I just booked AK savannah view on the free dining plan. I wanted a standard room. Alas.

We are a party of 5 so that means that we are considered deluxe rather than standard at AKL.
