Just got back from a 1 night stay @ AKL CL before our stay @ YC for Food & Wine. Trip was for just DH & myself. We LOVED our night at the lodge. Room was in great shape, view was awesome, food in the lounge was interesting and very tasty. Cast Members were super, was fun talking to them about their home countries. Had dinner at Jiko and are planning to bring our kids for a dinner when we are back next summer. Thanks for all the info I got before the trip from all of you here!

Question: checked-in online. Got pool view but noticed "sunset savannah" and "kudu trail" in the choices for requests.

What are the chances that we get Partial Savannah view?

We've booked it before and loved it. Not sure we'll have the money for it, this time around.

If the chances are slim to none, I might do the impossible to try to book one...

Requested Savanah view online .
Received a good partial Savanah view upon checkin.
We are usually satisfied where we end up most every WDW resort stay , when booking Standard .

I've thought about it and I couldn't help but thinking that if we do not get a partial savannah view we might be disappointed (because we've had it before and absolutely loved it)...

So I booked savannah view this afternoon. It was 100$ more but At this point I'm way too happy to feel guilty about it.

I requested 2nd floor as well because it is by far the best view IMO.

O.k. Next question: the last time we went there, we saw very few animals during the day... But we had 3-4-5 giraffes eating right in front of our balcony at 11 PM Every night.

In your opinion, what are the best moments to see the animals?

We've gone in March and April, and both times the best times were between 3 and 7, give or take. The morning was always bad as that's when the animals are being fed and cared for.
