AKL..are Savannah Rooms worth the exra $

I wouldn't stay at the AKL without the savannah view. It's a lovely resort and the amenities are great but what truly MAKES the experience is stepping out on your balcony and seeing the animals. It's an amazing experience!

I agree.

Otherwise just stay at a mod or value. IMHO Disney "Deluxe" is overpriced and if you don't have this view you are paying way too much for what they provide.

I adore the AKL, but the animals aren't the reason. I'm not big on animals and can see zebras and giraffes at the zoo any old time...plus there aren't always animals out there every time you look out the window.

But I wouldn't want to be looking at a parking lot and always pay for a view (no matter where I stay) on a long trip...that's me, though.

Don't know anything about bunk beds.

Definitely worth the money for us.
DH said he wants to stay there again because his favorite part of the whole resort experience was getting up ahead of us and going on the balcony to see the animals. I guess it was just a very peaceful thing for him.
My kids loved it because they could watch animals and take pics when they were restless in the room.
I thought it was kind of neat and was just happy that everyone else was.
