..the fantastic!!!
1. AKL... room 2513. Great animal viewing:;zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and a few others. A hike to the lobby but convenient to the restaurants via a back elevator.
2. The wonderful CM at MK who, while sold out of AA batteries, took 2 out from a parade light and gave them to us...without charge!! She asked me first if I were from Corporate HQ; I would like to think that this would be EXACTLY what Disney execs would like to witness!
3. Free valet parking for my husband (mobility challenged) How thoughtful! Also loved the (somewhat pricey) ECVs at each park. Thanks to DISboards who let me know about the parking.
4. GOT TO $250,000 at Millionaire. !!!!!! Never thought I would be so thrilled to win a bunch of pins, a cap and a t-shirt. Missed the cruise with the question: what is the bottom part of a wine bottle called?? (where the indentation is)
5. Met a DIS board member in MGM. She thought I was someone else because 3 of my party were in ECVs. She approached me hesitantly and asked me " are you on the DIS boards??"
6.Celebrating my SIL's birthday at Rose and Crown watching Illuminations from an outside table with lovely heaters overhead!
7. The DDE card. We saved the cost of the card ($50) in the first three days!! Still takes a little longer to pay with this because everything needs to be cleared by a manager.
8. Love Airtran and the ability to upgrade for $35!
9. TOWEL ANIMALS!!!! oh my gosh: we got a bunny, a monkey, an elephnt and an angel. We tipped daily in specially printed envelopes...$1 to $2 only!!
10. Jikos..probably the best meal on the property. My DH is still raving about the pork tenderloin.
11. The a capella singing group at Epcot prior to Voices of Liberty. Does anyone know their name and if they have produced a recording??
12. The Adventurers Club.. I am so glad that Dis members talked me into this. What a wonderful and fun time. Kongaloosh!!
13. The CM at "the World of Disney" who photocopied a pcture of Simba for us from a book at the store (and refused any offers of payment)
14. Animal Kingdom Meal package..got the ribs, a huge soda, and a Mickey bar and another soda later. Saved over $4.
We also ate at and enjoyed: Boma, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, CRT, Ohana, Sci Fi Drive In, 50s Prime Time (Momma Sue...what a hoot),HOB, and Bongos (just OK)
Please write me with any questions...

It was so nice meeting you! What a surprise! We did end up seeing the person who I originally thought you were the next day at AK on the way to the safari! Im so glad you did so well at Millionaire! Wish I would have seen it. :Pinkbounc

We were also at AKL for almost those same dates: 1/29 to 2/5 in our case and we were in room 3513 -- directly above your room! I thought that location was just wonderful for watching animals.

We also enjoyed those two ducks that flew over the hotel every morning and splash landed into the little pond, quacking away the whole time. We were on a relaxed schedule this trip so we never set the alarm clock -- we just relied on our "wake up ducks" to let us know when it was time to get up each morning.

Glad you had a wonderful trip! We were there at the Boardwalk same time as well. It was I that Mom2RinJen mistook you for. Isn't AKL incredible?! I've had the pleasure of staying there a couple trips and just love it. Congrats on your Millionaire win!

Your trip sounded wonderful. we are going to the AKL in 8 days and can not wait :cool1: . What do they call the bottom of a wine bottle? just curious.

What does DDE stand for? And what is the Adventurers Club? Do you have to be staying on site for these?

Thanks ~ Teresa :flower:

How was your meal at LeCellier?
Thought our lunch was good. Had the Cheese soup and pretzel bread. Would I go back again? Perhaps; I tend to like slightly more unusual foods but certainly the meal was of high quality.

DDE= Disney Dining Experience. There is some difference of opinion but I understand it is available for Florida residents and AP holders. You get 20% off your meals at sitdown restaurants at WDW as well as some of the food courts at the value resorts. It includes alcohol so my glasses of wine were more affordable!
The Adventurers Club, at Pleasure Island is modeled on a old fashioned travelers club of the 1930's. All the requisite characters are there but it seems new and fresh and very Disney. Rather than just a nightclub (drinks are available) it is "theatre". My DH and I thought it was clever, inventive and creative! Their signature drink, the Kungaloosh, is also the clubs' byword.
