AK opening ceremony???

Have been reading about MK opening ceremony and was wondering if AK does anything special as well???

We didn't catch it this time, but back in 9/02 we were there at opening and they did have a little something at the gate and then the characters hung around for pictures and autographs....of course we busted through and ran directly to the safari!! (Just kidding, I think we stopped for a photo or two)

"Adventure Begins" is the opening ceremony at AK. The rope is across the walk at the Tree of Life...the Adventure Begins vehicle pulls up with (usually) Minnie, Pluto and Goofy aboard as they do a little opening ceremony. Mickey makes a appearance as well. Just prior to the vehicle's appearance, two Safari drivers will come and scan the crowd to choose an "Adventure begins Family". The family gets to hold the golden rope and walk behind the vehicle, as it leads the crowds to the Safari
