Is there aisle runner etiquette? Meaning should the aisle runner be a shade of white, ivory, or cream? Is it wrong to have an aisle runner in a different color? I am debating on whether or not I get an ivory runner or a colored runner and wanted to hear your thoughts....Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance! :goodvibes

I don't really think there is etiquette unless it is a shade of white, like if your dress is ivory you don't want anything else to be stark white because it'll make your dress look a bit yellowish, and vice versa. If you want to do different colors, like pink or purple or blue (or whatever you like), I don't think there is "etiquette" with that.

I just wasn't sure if it would be tacky or not?

Has anyone ever used a color other than the different shades of white for an aisle runner?

I am not sure about proper etiquette on aisle runner colors but thought I would post pics of a pale pink aisle runner we saw at the Wedding Pavillion during our planning session earlier this month.

If this is from your morning wedding, the pink looked really pretty. I know this does not answer your question but I thought I would send you pics of a soft color in the WP.

I don't think it would be tacky at all!! Especially if it goes with your colors, or accentuates them in some way. I mean, it might be weird if your colors are, say, black and silver, and you use a neon green runner. :lmao: But if you know how to work it, do it!

Thank you for the pictures! Who ever had that, it looks really beautiful in there!

Our colors are burnt orange and a goldish/yellow. We were thinking of doing a goldish/yellow aisle runner with orange rose petals down the side. I think it will still be pretty in contrast with the green and pink carpet that the WP has. I just don't want it to look "bling, bling". If that makes any sense.

Can you imagine a neon green runner.....:rotfl:

Those colors sound beautiful against the WP carpet.
The only thing we had was a monogrammed runner.

i think... if i were to have a wishes wedding and an aisle runner, i'd have a dark blue runner with lime green designs on it. but... i'm strange.
so, i say... go with whatever color your heart desires.

You're not strange at all! I think a dark blue runner with neon green designs would be beautiful! I orginally wanted a burnt orange runner with yellow rose petals down the sides and an ivory monogram. I don't think my mother loved the idea which is why I brought up the aisle ettiquette question. She said there had to be some etiquette about it and I should check it out before making a final decision. :lmao:

Yeah i had to do the same with my mom. my colors are blue and silver and dark purple accents. my aisle runner is navy with silvery/gray wording.
