AirTran checkin after the 24 hour mark?

I can check in tomorrow night for our AirTran flight but I don't have our printer hooked up at home so I want to wait until I get to work on Thursday. We already paid to have out seats assigned so does it matter if I check in after the 24 hour mark? Thanks.

If you already have seats selected, there is no rush to sign in and check in right at the 24 hour mark. Check in at your leisure.

Not ENTIRELY true... the advantage to checking in early is that, in the unlikely event that the flight is overbooked and nobody volunteers to give up a seat, they involuntarily bump people based on whomever checked in last. Thus, if you can't take a bump for any reason (like when travelling to Disney with kids ), check in early!

If you don't have your printer hooked up, check in anyway. You can go back and print the boarding passes any time -- just go back to online checkin and it'll say "already checked in" and give you the option to reprint the boarding passes.

This is true. However not 100% of people check in online. So unless the OP was waiting to check in at the airport counter, I don't think there would be a worry of being bumped.

Right. I was just saying that it is worth checking in earlier than last-minute if possible.

Also, even if you can't print, you can do online check-in and just print the boarding pass at the airport.

Just check in that morning at AKL. You can even check in your luggage right at AKL.
