AirTran bumped our flight already UPDATED

I just made our reservations last week, today I thought I should double check the website for any changes. Sure enough our flight leaving Orlando has changed from 9:50 am to 9:15am. I have no idea how we're gonna make that, 9:50 was pushing it but it was the only direct flight that day. If I email them and ask nicely, what do you think the chances are of them letting us change to the 11:00 flight (a newly added direct flight)? I paid extra for insurance, but I'm sure that won't apply in this case.

They'll probably allow you to do it--just let them know you've got plans and can't make the other flight.

When are you traveling? If it's not for awhile you could easily have the flight changed a few more times...

I'd try to get on that other flight now, but keep an eye, as there very likely will be another schedule change before you leave.

yes ask now I think they will change they are good about that other airlines only change it for you if it was more than an hour but I would do it now other people will be trying for that later flight let us know

The only complaint I have with AirTran is that they are constantly changing their schedules. Normally the change is not by a great amount of time, but there have been some major changes and/or flights cancelled. They will e-mail you about the change at some point, but it's wise to keep an eye on their schedules yourself because their notification comes way after they change the schedule.
I really wish they would post a schedule and keep it. I can understand some minor modifications, but not some of the things they do. It's really too bad because they are a good airline to fly with good rates and friendly employees.

We just booked on AirTran for the first time for our Easter Cruise so hopefully they won't make alot of changes to our scheduled flights. I purposely booked alater flight home because I did not want to cut it to close getting from the Magic to MCO. After reading some of these posts it seems like that was probably a good idea, if we booked the earlier flight and they moved up the departure time it would have been pushing getting through security and making the plane.

I sent an email to Airtran last night, I finally got a response this afternoon that said to call them. So I called and got someone nice (I think he was borderline flirting w/ me, but hey, whatever it takes ) who was kind enough to switch us to the 11:50 flight at no charge.
I'm a happy camper now. So far great customer service from AirTran
