Anyone fly with them before? We found a flight from charlotte to Orlando for only $300 for the two of us. Just wondering if it was too good to be true.
TIA
Allie

We have gotten some very good deals through AirTran before. Our friends swear by them.

I booked with them for the first time for out upcomming trip...there was a lot of positive feedback on the Transportation Board....

I flew AirTran last year to NY City (LaGuardia) from DFW and back and it was great. A $35 upgrade at the time of checkin allowed for business seating from economy. The drawback was stopping in Atlanta on the way to and from. Atlanta is one of (was at one point) if not still the busiest airport in the nation. it's very large, though they have their very own terminal there. i had to swap concourses and they have a tram that takes you too it. from DFW some layovers are only 35 minutes, and with a 5 year old daughter and a wife and luggage that doesn't seem like a lot of time to switch planes. however, we are flying in April to Orlando nonstop. they only have 1 nonstop trip to and from orlando from DFW. sorry i'm rambling.

We fly Airtran every time we fly to Orlando. No complaints. They do occasionally monkey around with the schedule a bit but not too terrible. They are good about notifying you if they change it more than 30 minutes either way though. Just make sure the contact info you give them is an email or phone that you check often and you'll be fine if there are changes. If they change your flight time by more than 30 minutes and the change makes it not convenient you can switch to another flight with no change fees.

We've used Air Tran on 4 trips and have always been happy with them. We fly out of Philadelphia and they have always been right on time, most times landing a few minutes even before the scheduled time. We'll probably fly with them again in July. I like them better than Southwest because the boarding is pre-arranged, no cattle calls!

No complaints here. We are using them again this September! Great deals from them for sure!

Great rates and new planes, a great combination! We have used them to Orlando and other sites (work related) and have never had a major problem. Rates from PHL are always competative and there have never been any major airline related delays. Have a safe flight

We just booked a flight for July from Charlotte to Orlando with AirTran. Due to the high airfare we had intended on driving. When we saw a DIRECT flight from CLT to MCO for around $640 for 4 of us we booked it right away! I am hoping that the positive feedback I have seen, about AirTran, holds true. I have to say that because this is the ONLY DIRECT flight going and coming (all their other flights go thru Atlanta) it makes me a little nervous.:scared: keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!

We flew them down last time from Minneapolis and we were very impressed:thumbsup2. I am a former Northwest Airlines flight attendant and I was so impressed with them. Their fares are great. I found one down over sping break for $189.00 round trip:cheer2:. I kid you not! We are flying them down again and I have no reservations about doing so. Their service was fine, the employees very nice and efficient, and they give out free headsets you can keep to listen to their satelitte radio. There is no food (or at least there wasn't on any of my flights) even for purchase, so bring your own especially if you have kids. A hungry kid is an unhappy flier for you and the rest of the passengers, take it from and old flight attendant. I recommend them 100%. The last person I recommeded them to loved them too. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We will also be flying on them out of Minneapolis in April. I'm anxious to try them. Thanks for pointing out that they don't serve any food. I will be sure to bring something for my 3 kids. We got a heck of a deal with them. Only thing is that we do not have confirmed seats. Is that usual? Of course, with the kids, even if we split up it will have to be 2 and 3 - won't be able to do single seating so I'm a little worried about that.

Yup. We've never had any problems. We usually find the best deal with Airtran from Philadelphia.

My dh flies them every single week, Charlotte to Baltimore. His experience with their customer service has been great.

I've used them several times and haven't had a problem. In fact (on travelocity), I'm looking at booking travel in September and they're the cheapest with great flight times. Also, I recently flew into Ft. Lauderdale with my two kids (3 yr olds). The rate I got was an internet special and I was concerned because I couldn't choose my seats. They told me not to worry because they wouldn't separate us and that held true. We took our 3 seats next to each other and were on our way...

I fly AirTran at least a couple of times per month for business, from Akron to LGA and have never had a problem. Service has been fine, the flights are generally on time, and the fares are usually the most competitive.

Hi Bells! Our first vacation will be April 25. Where are you staying? We're at POFQ. We're flying USAIR direct from Philly.:cool1: :yay:

We flew AirTran last summer out of Dulles. Not a problem. In fact, on the return trip there was a huge T-storm spanning Phila. all the way down to Richmond and most flights with all airlines were delayed (including ours). They were diverting different flights and we were able to take off only 1 hr late while the others were delayed later. And it was a super flight!

You should be able to get preassigned seats. I would call them and make sure. The first time we flew we had preassigned seats and didn't realize it. With small kids request the front of the plane because they fly the 717 out of MSP and though it is a nice new plane the noise and vibrations from the engines at the back of the plane are terrible during taxi, take-off and landing. It's not good for the ears and it drove me nuts.

If you bought their most discounted tickets on the web, you won't be able to get pre assigned seats until 24 hours before the flight. Basically, if you pay above a certain price you'll get to pick your seats in advance.

If you did by the discounted tickets, get on line at the 24 hours to go mark - you should still have your choice of prime seats, since many others would have bought the discounted tickets as well.
