Anyone fly with them before? We found a flight from charlotte to Orlando for only $300 for the two of us. Just wondering if it was too good to be true.

I flew AirTran last year to NY City (LaGuardia) from DFW and back and it was great. A $35 upgrade at the time of checkin allowed for business seating from economy. The drawback was stopping in Atlanta on the way to and from. Atlanta is one of (was at one point) if not still the busiest airport in the nation. it's very large, though they have their very own terminal there. i had to swap concourses and they have a tram that takes you too it. from DFW some layovers are only 35 minutes, and with a 5 year old daughter and a wife and luggage that doesn't seem like a lot of time to switch planes. however, we are flying in April to Orlando nonstop. they only have 1 nonstop trip to and from orlando from DFW. sorry i'm rambling.
We will also be flying on them out of Minneapolis in April. I'm anxious to try them. Thanks for pointing out that they don't serve any food. I will be sure to bring something for my 3 kids. We got a heck of a deal with them. Only thing is that we do not have confirmed seats. Is that usual? Of course, with the kids, even if we split up it will have to be 2 and 3 - won't be able to do single seating so I'm a little worried about that.
You should be able to get preassigned seats. I would call them and make sure. The first time we flew we had preassigned seats and didn't realize it. With small kids request the front of the plane because they fly the 717 out of MSP and though it is a nice new plane the noise and vibrations from the engines at the back of the plane are terrible during taxi, take-off and landing. It's not good for the ears and it drove me nuts.
