Just got off the phone with MS. AirTran has been added to the DME resort bag checkin. :cool1:

I was figuring on having to carry my bags back to the airport, but that doesn't seem to be necessary now.

WOOHOO! Flying Airtran on June 28th! I am thrilled. We used this on our last trip and it is one reason my husband loves to go to Disney.

No driving+No moving bags= one happy hubby!

:cool1: :thumbsup2
We just started using Airtran. We were getting tired of the delays with USAir.
:woohoo:

Way COOL:banana: This Nov will be our first time staying at DVC. Exactly how does the bagage check work from the hotel?

Before your trip you sign up for DME. At the resort when you are checking out you take your bags to the DME check in desk. They take your bags, put you on the bus and you don't see your bags again until you get to your home airport, (hopefully). :wizard:

Actually, you do not need to ride DME to use Resort Airline Checkin. We have never used DME and have used RAC several times with other airlines, and we are happy that AirTran is now a participating airline. Bring your bags to the RAC desk along with your flight info. You will be given your boarding pass and RAC will check your luggage through to your home destination. We always rent a car and we love not having to deal with luggage when returning the car. We are going via AirTran in Nov. and were delighted to hear this. From what I understand they have been testing it at a couple of resorts for the last few months and are now adding it as a regular to all resorts. We have used DME a couple of times now and like it. The first time we got our boarding passes at the resort(OKW) two years ago the lady at WCO who checks your boarding pass before you get into the boarding security line was not going to let us pass. She stated the boarding pass looked funny. She had to call a supervisor over and she explained they were issued by our resort and we were allowed to go on from there. I can only assume this person was new. I have not read or heard of anyone else having this problem..smjj

I am trying Airtran out in August...and I am so excited!!!! They have great flight times for us, so I just have to see how bad the drive is from ALbany to Stewart/Newburg...I am excited!!!
