I know that passengers are asked to turn on their laptops for security through our airports but what about portable DVD players? Do they have you plug them in and run a DVD? I want to make our security screening as smooth a process as possible.

I have learned to remove my shoes (chunky heals, of course!), remove all jewelry before we get in the security line and have nothing of concern in our carry-ons.

Thanks for the input!!!

DS2 has carried his on many flights now and has never had to turn it on.

His bag has been unzipped once or twice but no hassles.

They don't ask you to turn on your laptops, they ask you to remove them from their carrying case.
Your DVD player will be fine.

Just carried mine through....just had to open up the case at DTW and that was it.
